Best case scenario Johnathan somehow gets cheaper after a while or if a front decides to lower the price for a bit (managed to get a WF Joseph at 8500 at the time he jumped at 13k+)

I'm in the same boat, I recently got into Jojo and have 5 packages of SAS coming right now (The Pillar Men, the 3 regular releases of The World, Star Platinum Green, Killer Queen, Jonathan Joestar, Dio Brando Part 1, and Joesph and Iggy) all are RSAL and the wait is killing me.

USA west coast here. SAL as a whole seems to slow down this time of year. It's the only service I use (for the last 5+ years) and I see that pattern a lot. Summer through autumn I get my stuff within 8-10 business days of original purchase confirmation, but winter through spring it's almost a week longer on average. You get used to it, and understand that it's the nature of the service.

Or you can just have control and purchase the ones you really, really want or manage your space to effectively display them. It's you that influences that sort of slippery slope.

Also if Amazon allows you to avoid customs then it's not a bad choice but if the price for a Josuke is too high (Amazon seller goes for something absurd with the slowest shipping and no tracking) then AmiAmi may aid you.

He's been reissued a bit so I'd imagine the pricing won't be over the top.

I started reading Tokyo Ghoul, and at one point I too thought it had to be satirical. I had to stop reading at like chapter seven when, in a moment I thought was supposed to be serious, the MC had a Looney Toons-style fantasy about seeing a guy as a delicious turkey dinner. It's awful.

On top of that, the character designs are Hot Topic-tier edgy, and not in a good way. So I can't even enjoy the figures on a purely aesthetic level.

Yeah, once you apply the main colors with multiply, adding onto the spots that need it with color burn or overlay/soft light is good for shading.

If you are good at that/have the feeling for it, it can come out looking really good.

It depends really. How often do you use photoshop, and in what way? Just casual recolouring, or do you actually draw, colour and shade stuff yourself?

If you've got the chops for it, hell - even if you don't and you just have the patience to learn it - then the manner that I mentioned (multiple for the main colour coat and then soft light layer for the shaded details) could come out looking good.

This is not at all what I (or anyone) said. I'm not mad that Tokyo Ghoul sucks and now they're getting SASs. I like figmas too, and the amount of garbage they put out compared to what I actually want is astronomical. On top of that, I'm happy that Medicos is branching out from Jojo; that one series can't keep them afloat forever, and TG is popular enough that they'll probably rake in a bunch of dough (which they'll hopefully use to make more Jojos). The reason I'm pissed off is that Medicos said they'd show off some part 7 stuff, and completely failed to deliver.

Black Dio is the worst in terms of how Medicos treated their QC (no one noticed the weak joints or poor work for some) however there's a chance you can get a good one. He comes with the yellow punch effects. Other Dio's hold up well enough but I rarely seen anyone comment much on WF Dio other than the bumped shipping due to the paper craft coffin.

Awakened Dio is a mix bag with his back often treated as the worst part (ab crunch leads to a big noticable gap on his back) but he's okay.

The World is generally fine but I often notice the eyes being mis-positioned into noticable spots (pretty much comes up with The World 1st but I'm sure 2nd and 3rd has that also). The World 2nd is often liked due to the color way and the large "MudaMudaMuda" plate he comes with. The World 3rd is okay but nothing really special, a general recolor that went for 6k back then on Mandarake.

Mandarake for older figures you missed, check the OP for the lettering needed to search.

Jungle is a little more expensive due to shipping and the 500 yen fee but good stock comes there from time to time.

Terraformer in the Rakuten shop is another source but updates for SAS are more random.

For preorders just head on over to AmiAmi, Hobbylink Japan, and the regular Buyfag sites. Lurk AmiAmi's preowned section for a chance to see if any SAS's were dropped.

Don't fret about the idea they are used or something on the 2nd hand sites. Often figures are in very good condition and they would note of any immediate damage is on the figure.

I thought Jungle had a 5% fee rather than flat 500Y (which is what Mandarake has when your item total is less than 5000Y)?

One thing to note about Jungle and Mandarake is they both seem to have a different idea of what should be cheap and what should be expensive for some things. Pillar Men are a good example, like I nabbed Kars for 3.2k and I don't think he's ever been that cheap on Mandarake. By the same note sometimes you see some stuff pop up on Jungle and they're asking double what you can get it for on Mandy whenever you feel like it, so it's worth it to keep an eye on both if you're looking for something that seems overpriced on one or the other.

Jungle has been pretty slow for SAS lately though.

The pink(KQ2nd) comes with everything the white(KQ1st) does plus a sound effect plate.
The blue(WF exclusive) comes with an extra head for Kira.
KQ1st was reissued almost two years ago I think.
