Medicos' release schedule have been pretty inconsistent the past year. Sometimes reissues and new releases are released in the same month, sometimes it's just reissues, sometimes just new releases. Then sometimes stuff gets delayed and pushed back. It's pretty hard to predict when new SAS come out now.

It's not like anything horrible will happen unless 2017 is a bad year for you. Baoh is probably bound for release this year but it's Gyro everyone is fretting about. Not to mention Medicos can make surprise announcements for more.

Mines shipped out but all it seems to be is a recolor with the stripes added in. The sword and scabbard seem to be be the same and just recolored also. Not sure what other physical changes could be there for Medicos to do.

Toyohisa and Shinichi are kinda odd. They both have more typical armjoints without elbow caps.

Whereas the Jojo, Tokyo Ghoul and Ajin SAS seem to have the same, older style ones where both connections are visible from the front and they have the elbow cap.

So who has the most valuable Jojo collection?

Excluding the Japanese fans since pic related some of them are hardcore and will take out a second mortgage on their collection. Western collectors seem to be far more sensible and only spend within reasonable limits.

I guess I'm asking who on here has the most valuable collection, but also extending to other western fans on like, other Jojo forums and stuff.

Baldy, probably. He has a pretty fucking extensive SAS collection and even some of the rarer pieces like clear Killer Queen. I'm actually not sure how big Wond's collection is in total but I know he has clear The World.

Man, I miss my Za Warudo. Sold him since I was parting with Dio (didn't care for that mold), and felt like I had to sell him as well.

Shit, there's a lot of stands I want that I don't buy because I don't really want their users. Maybe I'll just buy them and start a monsterboy collection or something.

People buy the stands purely because they like the design and not always combo them together. You're openly free getting just the user, just the stand, or both. It's just like you're not restricted to posing your figures to just the stuff they do in the manga or artwork.

I got stuff from other lines because I loved the design enough without knowing the source material. Nothing is stopping you on just buying the stands and no one is going to tear you apart just because you only have Crazy Diamond but no Josuke.

It's not an insecurity issue or anything, it's just feels like an odd thing to have a display with Stands by themselves, while some have their users. Kind of like having a Sentai team missing a colour or something.
And I was just wondering if there was anyone buying more Stands than users (opposed to the reverse), that's all.

Hell, I couldn't give less of a fuck what SAS General thinks of me, given somebody once started an argument because I preferred a fucking colour he didn't care for.

I'm sure there are collectors who aimed for the stands rather than the users but I haven't seen many post shots of displays like that here. Though I'm guessing a large majority here get the user/stand combo because of the manga/anime and anyone who collects stands more than users is far smaller.

Only stand I've got without a user is purple haze, and that's because he looks great and fugo looks like shit. Maybe there's a bit of extra psychological satisfaction since he's a remote stand, but I wouldn't be opposed to getting more on their own but I just normally like the user too.
It does kinda bum me out a bit when I've got a user but I don't like the stands design enough to bother with. I'm a weird kind of autistic about all this stuff. Like I'll never get more than one version of the same character because it sorta makes them more of a 'toy'.

The World finally arrive and thank god i did not get "Za Wold". However the color scheme feels off and it's color pallet is closer to a mustard yellow which looks "off" when paired up with Dio. Did i received a factory reject? Or is it just another issue with the re-release?

I got him a while ago off Mandarake since I don't mind statues, he's a really great looking figure. I had just finished SBR and that was my favourite design for Johnny so I instantly wanted it.
If you can find him for a good price I'd say go for it. He is detachable from the base, but I don't know how big off-hand.

It's actually pretty nice since the yellow meshes well with the green tones but a big issue that comes with this is Johnathan's hand pegs are too small for the holes on the effect. This causes them to be pretty loose if you want to display him with it. The solution for that is grabbing spare arms to support the effects and hiding Johnathan's hands within it.

And with that you may need those 3-hole bases Medicos sells on WF to keep the display complete versus having 2 more based to support the arms.

Does anyone here have their packages shipped to PO boxes (in the US)?

I recently moved to an apartment and don't feel like having my packages out where anyone can steal them, so I'm thinking about getting a PO box. Will the post office be okay if I rent the smallest size and only use it for packages? Or will they require me to get the big one? Is the biggest size even worth it? Not that anon, but yes. In the series, those things are predatory organs used by ghouls to more effectively hunt humans and compete with each other for food, from an evolutionary standpoint.

Boggled why they chose this design for it, though. The ugliest and possibly most impractical design. I don't see it being very poseable beyond the joint at the base of it. I don't see those arms having a wire in them either.

Other designs the character had were more like insect legs, which would have looked better in my own opinion, and would have worked just being regularly jointed and thus better articulated, but oh well.

I think that extra articulation is what they were trying to avoid. They're trying to keep costs low by any means necessary, hence the shitty accessories we've been getting lately. Personally, I'd prefer them to go all out like they used to, even if t costs more.

And yeah, kakuja Kaneki would have definitely been pretty good. Seems like Statue Legend is all that form will get, though. And I 1. am not interested in statues, and 2. Think Di Molto Bene has been especially sloppy lately, especially for the ludicrous prices.

I'll buy all three SAS and hope that the line is popular enough to warrant more SAS, but until then, I'll do what I can with what is being offered. Maybe I'll get into customizing.

Fair point there. I was just mislead by the fact that Tsukiyama comes with the same stuff, plus an extra kagune part.

Whereas Kaneki comes with one kagune that will likely not be that functional. Though, to be fair, Tsukiyama's kagune is one blade, whereas Kaneki's is four tentacles.

I think Juuzou has the best luck, currently, with a special hand, a good quinque and possibly removable knives in the jacket.

So I've never bought an SAS before but I've had my eye on the Shinichi from Parasyte for a while. If I'm used to Figuarts primarily what kind of experience should I expect? I'm not really interested in JoJo even though I assume that any of those would be more likely to be stand out figures from the toy line. The demi human looked cool too though

I'm on the opposite side of since I haven't the highest experience for Figuarts (Bruce Lee is the only one) but don't expect a lot of great shoulder movement for either but you can still get off decent range.

The hips may feel a bit odd but you'll adjust to it over time. It has this inner part that rotates along the hip joints.

Shinichi in particular benefits a lot from his accessories (no penis arm unfortunately.) The "scared" or unsure face with his hair down has a slightly off eye on mines so keep an eye out for that. The extended arm has rotational movement along 3 places and you can swap out the regular arm easily without it feeling like the joint will snap.

However getting in that one part for when Shinichi loses his arm and Migi's eye pops out of the stump is a bit tough but warm water may soften migi's eye enough to slot in.

Ajin has roughly the same shoulder joints but when I got him in I feel he may be more delicate due to the longer frame of his body and the joints. Nothing snapped yet but be extra careful when handling him. Nothing too out of the ordinary but sculpt wise he's pretty nice given how minimal he is. The open head in particular is super nice in the sculpt and paint department. Also he's much larger than the standard SAS box and his base takes up a bit of space.

Check out Nuu's reviews for extended poses to reference on each since he can do a far better job showing off each of their articulation.

My general assessment of SAS's are like this

Also I forgot, everyone comes with a base and arm with an interesting mechanic, they're modular which means you can take two SAS's and slot in the side with the hole to combine it into a single base for two figures. This often works off the User/Stand aspect of Jojo and Medico's main line of figures.

True, some SAS have QC issues, but that's usually limited to the figures themselves. In general, SAS quality isn't half bad. It's just that there's recurring issues for the same figures, like the Za Woldo eyes.

Interesting mix, having Shinichi and the IBM together. I got Shinichi but I passed on the IBM since there was no Ajin character to go with him, and having him without a user is kinda strange.

But I've been thinking about getting a random, sorta generic Figma school guy, maybe with a headswap, and having the IBM be his Ajin equivalent of a stand. That sounds appealing to me, at least.

Will have to wait until the IBM goes back on sale and I find a generic school guy figure.

Shinichi is good. The paint apps are good, but like the anon above mentioned, the alternate face may be a bit off, although it does not have to be.

Personally, Shinichi is one of my favorite figures. His basic design is pretty plain, but his accessories make him a great figure to have. I love that he comes at least with two Migi, one being articulated. And the fact that they were made to be separate, or attach to the wrist.

Also, Medicos has shown that they can easily delve into another style with Shinichi. He doesn't feel out-of-place with my Figma figures, and that's appreciated.

He's tons of fun, in my opinion. The only flaw he has in my opinion is the limited elbow articulation, but that's something I can easily give up. He's not perfect, but he's great.

Mind you there are exceptions that run cheaper even at those stages. One WF release is actually super cheap compared to the others. What determines it is by different factors so pricing varies on who you search for. Generally super popular figures are priced higher and Mandarake may take notice one that. Reissues do soften the impact on the prices of older figures though and sometimes you can get lucky.

Shinichi shouldn't be all that rare last I checked so you may be in luck.

It ain't too bad, and it's cheap, so it's worth it if you want one. I grabbed one for my girlfriend's birthday for like 15 bux. If they ever make an orange version I'll definitely grab one for myself, new sculpt or no new sculpt.
They've been pretty stingy lately but it'd be stupid of them not to make some new accessories at the very least.

At least these were common figures we're talking about. A while back, I foolishly thought I nabbed a Wammu, Okuyasu, and Killer Queen each at a great price off Amazon, only to receive that same message. I've found them on Mandy/Amiami since then, but not after a lot of hunting.

Not really. The smaller effects are best attached to the wrist joint versus weapons for Johnathan. What you can do is attach one effect and then attach others to that effect and see if you can create the effect of the ripple surrounding or coming out of his blade. I'm still messing around with some combinations but it can be done if you have the time and not forcing things.

As for the bigger parts I'm more keen on recommending you get SH Figuarts base packs since you need more arms and a base to use the entire effect set.

At the end It's a pretty good purchase if you want to pair Johnathan, Joseph, and Caesar with these but it's up to how you setup the effects for the display.

Also if you plan to use this on other figures it's not always a solid fit since the size of the wrist/sculpt can determine how well the smaller pieces can hook up.

He's hardly going down in price in a major way and I'm not sure how lucky you can find him again at lower prices like 8500 (there was a small time where 3 or so WF Joseph's just appeared at that price point)

All in all, You won't regret it since he's still solidly built but I noticed some anon's who got theirs, the smiling face had a slightly off eye but it's not always the case with all of them.

Though I will still wait for the day on that glorious purple Joseph color way.

I feel the same.

Comparing Joseph and Johnathan's WF colorways I find Joseph's brown hair matching his boots brings the color choices together. Johnathan is has a mix of green tones and purple with the backpack touching it up a bit with its own tone but the green head ties it together in my eyes.

Not him but Pucci's lower robe is movable by a system similar to Jotaro's jacket. The front part is on hinge of some sort and the side parts seem to be on some sort of joint along the hips. It definitely doesn't feel nice if you want to over extend it or outright remove it.

Anyone know of any good guides for custom painting SAS or figures like them?
