>>5486425Yeah it's the COO 2.0. It's pretty good other than its limited articulation. I wish I had snatched up a Revo Skel when they first came out and weren't so expensive, but I do really like the size of this guy.
I hear thrift stores are great for finding material for doll clothes, I need to hit one up soon.
Sewing machines do make things a lot faster, and I can't imagine how nightmarish sewing knits would be without them. However, sewing 1/6 scale stuff on them takes a lot of practice and trial and error. Topstitching along the edges of fabric with a 1/8" seam allowance is HARD MODE. Tricks I've found to make it work are to use a narrow straight stitch presser foot, and putting the fabric on a wider piece of tear-away stabilizer. Also, cut really thin strips of fusible seam tape and use those to hold your hems together instead of pinning.
I wouldn't even attempt 1/12 scale on a sewing machine, except for maybe the biggest flat seams. I'd never be able to sew the sleeves on or topstitch on a machine.
Also, PATTERN TESTING. So much pattern testing. It's a huge pain but if you're sewing for weird shaped things like skeletons you're gonna need it.
That looks pretty solid for hand stitching, a lot more even than I could accomplish. There's a little puckering though so in the future you might wanna watch out for that. Be careful not to pull the thread too tight when you tie it off.
