I started on the Rubik's original one and it's fucking slow, doesn't corner cut etc but I learnt the beginner's method on it. You could probably lube it and tension it right to make it okay but still get a speedcube. They feel really uncontrollable at first but you'll get used to it and get faster and faster.
Dayan cubes are good, I've had three zhanchis and a 2x2 and really like them. I'll probably get the Dayan Megaminx at some point, heard it needs re-lubing to make it good though. Dayan cubes come with a logo stick on the white centre but you can peel it off.
Got a stickerless MoYu AoLong V2 the other day and it's VERY nice, I think I prefer it to the zhanchi, it feels great, but it's early days yet.

Wouldn't get Shengshou cubes again, hit and miss, great value for money though.
