>>5496953>Ultimate JH hits stores shortly after june's kenner wave and CH four months after that.Where did they say or imply any of that? I even dug around on Twitter, and other than Randy saying "later this year" there's nothing implying that that's when they're going to be coming. Hell, they practically didn't even say anything about them at Toyfair, and all the had on display was the damn boxes.
And you're a fool if you think the Ultimate JH and CH are going to have brand new bodies like you're apparently thinking.
All of the ultimate figures so far have fallen pretty much under two categories: "Exactly the same figure we've gotten before" and "Exactly the same figure we've gotten before, but with some minor articulation tweaks." The only exceptions are figures like Sarah Conner and Nathan Drake, which are obviously new because...they didn't exist before.
The Ultimate line seems more about getting their older figures that go for ridiculous prices on the aftermarket back on shelves at a more affordable price, while also packing them with all or most of the accessories that they had scattered across multiple releases. They did some minor tweaking to some of the figures like the T-800, Freddy, etc, where they added in a knee joint because the articulation was so outdated that they NEEDED those upgrades.
If I had to hazard a guess, we'll probably get the same wave 8 JH and the same wave 7 CH that have been around, and they'll probably tweak a couple joints on the existing bodies to make the slightly more in-line with the AvP articulation.
It doesn't even make sense for the to use the AvP body for everything just because the articulation is better, just because the build of the body is totally different. Like the Kenner Clan leader it makes sense because the old Kenner toy was big and bulky as fuck, so it works for him to be the biggest and bulkiest one now, too. Spike Tail is fine on the CH body, and people seem to be liking him best of this next Kenner wave.
