>>5502473It's the Vintage Collection version, which was an Amazon exclusive a few years back. Excellent vehicle, the only Star Wars vehicle I've bought doubles of!
>>5502772Me too! I love all the FO troop designs, but the TIE pilots really stand out to me as being particularly awesome. I really like how they balanced out the proportions of the pilot, as the OT pilot was a pretty top heavy design.
You may be right about the helmet surface not holding paint well; the Elite pilot has a noticeably more matte finish to his helmet than the standard pilot, and that could very well be to help the red paint hold.
>>5502835>They look like modern Earth pilots, nothing sci-fi about them. That's an interesting viewpoint. I'm a pretty big military buff and I never got that impression from them myself. Looking at it now and trying to fit the design to a modern fighter pilot and I just can't see it. I think I just can't look past the chest armor piece, the chest control box, and vambraces. You'd never see a modern pilot wearing those so they really stand out to me a sci-fi-ish, haha.
>>5504295I've got the Phasma/Trooper set and I like it a lot. I'm also not a fan of how Kylo's turned out, the ones I've seen have all had fairly sloppy paint apps and the sculpt doesn't look that great.
There's an upcoming set that will have Poe's black helmet along with a FO TIE pilot helmet, which I'm really looking forward to.
