I'm of two minds there. I agree, in that it might've made her wings easier to pose pulled upward, rubber makes me nervous though, I always fear it tearing or wearing out too quickly. The weight of the rubber on such large wings might have been an issue too.

Since the last thread went to hell I'll ask again. You guys think it's a good idea to sell pic related now that an improved version is confirmed for next year?
I'm in for a properly articulated figure but am in doubt because I fear they might screw the sculp and make it more 'screen accurate' like furyu or hot toys.
If I recall correctly they had one of the dudes from studio adi to help with the sculpting and he took a couple liberties with the lower half to make it look more dynamic and thin and less like a guy inside a rubber suit.

Honestly? Wait until we see photos of the prototype. Unless you don't have much of a connection to the toy, in which case, sure jump on it. If you want a figure of the character, though, my only concern is how sometimes shit gets pushed back. So if you sell it now, and we don't get the figure for another 2 years...there's no telling what may occur.

But when you see the prototype or whatever, or at least a release date, then I'd personally feel better getting rid of the older version. It's kind of what I do with the MLs as they get updated. Because even those can get canceled...buh.

You know they're going to knock it out of the park with amazing articulation (for a Neca) and great sculpt/paint apps.

I guess it depends on where you're from, cause Scavage, Lava Planet and Hive Wars are still very common here in the UK, you can still pick them up for MSRP or lower on ebay.

Probably going to get banned for shilling Mandarake here, but they have some pretty good deals on old Neca Predator figures. I've seen Big Red and Dutch on there recently for not quite rape-rpices.

The Kenner figures have really not gone up in value that much, other than Nightstorm, for some weird reason. Maybe its the colors, but I don't know why him.

The rest you can get right around retail, give or take a few bucks.

I'm glad I got into the line when did, and that was back in 2013. Backtracking for all of the waves up until then wasn't super difficult, and they were already almost up to wave 10 by the time I jumped in.

I think it's pretty strong honestly. One of the highlights of the film was celtic swinging Grid around. It makes the most sense putting them together like that for a scene.

Last year we got a black domed Chap, which a lot of people have been asking for, and a Renegade with Kenner accurate colors and a swappable head.

Before that we got the cool Genocide 2 pack, again with an all black warrior repaint that everyone was clamoring for.

I was super excited for both of those. This time around, I'm bored and annoyed. Celtic with some scratches on his mask doesn't excite me as I already have him, and Grid is the proper Grid that we should have got to begin with.

They should have done a Kenner 2 pack or an AvP game 2 pack. Grid should have a clipped tail. Battle damaged Celtic can always be done as part of another wave if their is significant demand for it.

The Genocide 2-Pack wasn't part of the same....."line"....technically.

The end-of-year 2 packs are always TRU exclusives, and they're more considered Predator releases than Alien releases.

The Genocide 2-Pack was technically part of the Aliens line, and a wide-release, not a TRU exclusive.

Ironically, the 2-Pack that released before the Kenner 2-Pack was the Final Battle Jungle Hunter/Dutch 2-Pack which was by far the worst one ever. All of the other 2-Packs came with tons of weapons and accessories, but the final battle 2-Pack came with the worst version of Dutch that they made, a cheap, useless version of the Jungle Hunter, and only had a mask, which the Predator couldn't even wear.

It was a really bad set.

It's just incredibly scene-specific, and really doesn't offer anything at all, like the other 2-packs. The Dutch and JH in this set are probably the weakest, and definitely most stripped-down versions of the figures they've released.

The sets that came before them all came with trophy skulls, and an arsenal of weapons. Even the figures that were offered up were sort of necessary.

There was one 2-Pack that had the Rebreather mask City Hunter, and a battle damage JH. I think it was one of the first JH figures on the JH 2.0 body. And to this day, that CH is the only Predator that has the rebreather mask. Also came with a bunch of accessories for both figures.

Then there was a set that was a re-release of one of their older Big Chap figures that had been out of production for a while with a different paint job, and I think their "technical" first JH in the line, since that 2-Pack came out in like, 2011, and all the figures on that body so far were the Classic Predator from Predators. Also came with a bunch of accessories and trophies stuff.

And it's funny, but that first AvP pack gave me the 'fixed' Big Chap. The first one I got, the single pack, had the clear dome, and the 2 pack had the smokey dome.

And the Jungle Hunter that came out on the new body is fun cause he's actually more movie accurate cause he's got blood on the back of his calf. Something you wouldn't even notice right away.

The first real deluxe release was Bad Blood, and that was when the standard-wave figures were still only $20. Now they're approaching the $25 mark anyway, and the ultimate/deluxe releases are $25, too.

I mean, realistically, they're just putting a couple new accessories in with these figures, maybe sculpting some new armor parts here and there...that used to be the standard practice for the regular wave Predators, but now when they do that they're billed as higher-end releases.

A lot of the other Ultimate figures are at, or even below the price of the standard Predators, and there have been plenty of those other ultimates that have gotten brand new sculpts, or are just heavily reworked, and come with new or unique accessories.

And the only time the reuse of sculpted armor pieces has really been a problem is with the Kenner press (upcoming wave excluded). The Kenner preds also weren't hot sellers, so you can see why they cut corners.

In fact, I think they actually stepped up their game even in wave 12, since Elder, Viper, and Enforcer all had swappable hands, and multiple accessories across the board. What they gave us with AvP was fantastic.

I just think they should level the price at $25 per, and put everything back into the standard line. Because you could easily, easily call those AvP Preds and even maybe Bad Blood ultimate, and no one would bat an eye because they came with so much stuff.

I'm just saying the difference between Regular/Deluxe/Ultimate releases is pretty blurry for the Predator line. Way more so than Ultimate/Deluxe releases in their other lines.

Unfortunately, having an actor's likeness rights is usually only for specific movies. NECA has the rights to make an Apollo Creed that looks like Carl Weathers, but they don't have the rights to make a Dillon that looks like Carl Weathers. They are separate deals and for some reason, Carl won't sign off on the rights to Dillon.

There seems to be two versions of the masked Berserker, one has a yellow-ish belly and a more red-ish mask, the other has a grey-ish belly and a more brown-ish mask. Yours looks to be the yellow version with the red mask.

Mine is the grey version with the brown mask, you can see that the mask is actually a different colour compared to his shoulder and crotch armor, whereas yours has matching pieces.

There is only one Pred from the main 3 Kennet series that they haven't done. I think he has Laser in his name or something. Probably either him, or a battle damaged AvP xeno (exploding head or something like that)

Lasershot? Yeah, they haven't done him, but there are a few prototypes/concepts (like that 4-armed Pred) and stuff they haven't done. I full expect them to find a way to do another full wave of Kenners a few more waves down the line.

I expect a cloaked AvP Pred for the SDCC exclusive...nothing super exciting, but I do think they'll probably use the AvP body.

I hope they do another Kenner Terminator figure, though. That Endoglow Endo skeleton was pretty neat.

Ill be honest I think BAF are a fantastic idea and NECA should monopolize on it. Not sure if any of you guys are familiar with the Asmus LoTR figures but theyre 1/6 scale and come with BAF parts. It seems like a really afordable way for NECA to do the bigger guys they normally couldnt.

For example I'm interested in Concept Big Chap and maybe AVP Warrior but could give a fuck about Grid, but if there was a BAF associated with the wave I'd be forced to buy Grid as well if I wanted it

It also would suck for anyone who wants to buy two AVP Warriors or something, now they have two heads or two torsos

Plus a typical NECA wave is only 3 unique figures; so you'd have to split the BAF over 2 waves or you'd have to split the figure into only 3 pieces which seems cost prohibitive; Predators are already going up to $23 and won't be long until they're $25; with a huge BAF part they might go up to $30 and if we're going to do that, I'd rather they got more accessories or alt hands & heads than anything else.

A proper APC is literally impossible. You MIGHT get an outer facade version but they even say in the Aliens commentary and special features that the inside set is literally bigger than the outside. So you'd at best have a mostly hollow outside APC that you could have maybe 1 or 2 marines sort of stand inside, but not sit in it with seats or drive it or anything. And it would STILL be $100.

Build A Figure.

Each figure comes with a different part (one comes with the torso, one the head, one an arm, one the other arm, etc, etc.) then you assemble the figure once you've got all the figures in the wave.

Marvel does this a lot, and they're one of the only ones that really do it these days.

NECA actually did some similar things before, like with the Hellraiser figures, where each figure came with one side of Pandora's Box a long time ago.

I wouldn't really worry too much about the lore. The original Kenner figures didn't really have any backstory, and the write ups on the NECA Kenners were made up by them.

They just called Nightstorm one of the oldest/first because of his Egyptian motif.

The only way I could see BAF working is if they do end up splitting it up in three parts. Hell they could do sets for all I care. I do understand where that one anon is coming from though, I hate shelling out 20 bucks for essentially I right arm for a character, shit gets old.

As for Queen variants we are possibly getting an AvP Queen, we could a Matriarch, a King Alien, or the one from Ressurection. Theres also the Raven from the Colonial Marines game, I know the game sucked but he still looked cool.

Yeah, some people don't like predator, some people don't like aliens. I can't see why though, they're both great sci-fi/monster films which expanded and combined into something much bigger.

I don't think either franchise would be alive today if they hadn't combined efforts. Which is funny to say because both AvP movies sucked ass.

My problem with the aliens line is that I feel like I have to buy more than one of each xeno variant, which isn't cost or space effective. At least I can get away with one of each predator, and they take up a lot less room on a shelf.

Only really true for the Warrior and AvP xeno, and we got so many repaints and battle damaged warriors that the hive built itself.

Chap, Isolation, and Dog were all loners (well, technically not Isolation xeno, but for most of the game it was).

Making it a chase figure would be a terrible idea, non-Americans will have to pay through the nose to acquire it. They should release it as a standard figure along with the regular Alien 3 wave.

A chase figure is when they randomly include it into cases at a lower rate than normal figures.

eg, a box with new Neca Aliens wave figures might contain 10 x Ripley, 10 x Weyland Commando, and 1 x molten lead Dog Alien.
