Megatron unveiled the ultimate reason why he was doing that, which was to make him a Phase Sixer, a giant weapon, and Overlord felt a little less special and ran off to throw a massive tantrum that became Garrus 9. LSOTW is just him throwing a fuckhuge tantrum I hopes that Megatron will notice, but he never does.
He doesn't want to kill Megatron, per se, he wants Megatron's attention through any means necessary, and that means boils down to hyper aggressive violence because that's how Megatron trained him.
Like all psychopaths, he's just really pathetic.
