>>5695820In terms of Mexico, the anime is the most popular aspect of the franchise, and they got GT while DBZ was still hot, while in the US GT had an awkward dub release after popularity started teetering off. Also I think more Americans are focussed on "canon" and a lot of the backlash against GT seems a more recent thing since Kai came out and people started really focussing on manga canon. That hasn't really caught on in some other places, so the anime still reigns supreme in areas like Mexico. GT, being a(and I emphasize, "a", so that doesn't devolve into another argument) continuation to the anime, its popularity is lumped in.
Anyway, I think the SS4 look is great on Goku, it feels more like a proper power-up for him, than say, SS3. Rewatching/reading early Dragon ball and going back to Z is weird because so much Goku's monkey-ness is discarded. In the same vein, I really dislike Vegeta as an SS4, because he just looks goofy.
