>>5717979>Who the fuck wants an 18 inch Deadpool though?Yes there's the movie, but given you're in /toy/ of all places, I'm surprised that you'd even think this especially when Deadpool figures being popular was always a thing even before the movie came out.
Also barring the normalfags flocking over the character, I don't think you realize that there are actually Deadpool fans out there who rather like his comic depiction through Joe Kelly's early run, which tend to delve into the more nuanced parts of the character. It was only in Daniel Way's modern run that character had more of the dumb kiddy humor added in which it attracted the normalfags (in the movie's case, it's literally a combination of Kelly and Way's depiction of DP).
>>5717970>To most people, Deadpool has always been "TACOS!" and "BOOBIES!" so a lot of people are disinterested right off the bat. That's not entirely true though. That perception only came about around the mid-2000s due to Daniel Way's run (which attracted the normalfags). Before then, DP had comedy yes, but it was Kelly's run that cemented the more nuanced aspects of the character which many of his bigger fans adore.
I won't lie in saying that my love for the movie comes from the fact that it does a good job of balancing both depictions of Deadpool, with a larger inclination for Kelly's run in terms of the story it told (which cover Deadpool's origin, his self-loathing and insecurities, his arch-nemesis Ajac/Francis etc.)
