>>5707565That's actually how it used to be in the first few years of /toy/, back when third party stuff was mostly just Fans Project upgrades and a few other companies doing small projects. Once third party became a much bigger scene, a rift started forming and it just didn't end up working out to keep the two together in one General.
Several reasons
- TF General threads move too quickly to keep any viable information about third party figures around, especially when that information comes at such a trickle. Four TF General threads could live and die by the time we get the next new bits of info for ANY third party figures so that info would be quickly buried and lost before half the people who care find out about it.
- While there is some overlap between the groups, a number of people are split between official and third party figures. Some folks do nothing but bitch about third party prices and designs while others will shitpost about how Hasbro/Takara offerings looks like McDonald's toys for babies. There are enough dissidents within each of the two groups to ensure they can't get along together.
- It's just easier to focus on and discuss who's releasing what without having official stuff blended with third party.
