>>57092521) Movie universes are all the rage these days
2) Hasbro (rightfully or wrongfully) thinks that some of these properties likely can't survive on their own, but they could in one big universe, much like how something like Guardians of the Galaxy or Doctor Strange probably wouldn't get made without the greater MCU existing.
3) Apparently, IDW asked Hasbro about this comics crossover. I don't know how much of that I believe, it might just be them spinning it to make it sound less like a corporate/toy-forced push.
4)Yes, in general, they are trying to have some sort of synergy between all versions of their brand. They ideally want anyone to be able to pick up anything "Transformers" and be able to get into it relatively easy. Which isn't a terrible idea in theory, but it really feels like Hasbro can't coordinate creative stuff to save their life. Between the constant disconnects between the movies and movie toys, the clusterfuck of Aligned, etc - it just feels like they ought to just leave the creative stuff to the creators. You might not like them all, but at least they offer a consistent product unlike the many disjointed, half-baked connections Hasbro's stuff tends to be.
