>do the joints work wellI'll say "yes" with the idea that it's understood that the joints that are moving well are single jointed elbows/knees and swivel wrists. They're about as good as those joints can get, considering how bulky the MOTUC bodies are.
>The hips look like they'd be really gimpedLaterally, no. Forward, it depends. Almost every MOTUC has a soft rubber pelvis overlay, and depending on the sculpt of that piece it can hinder movement. But to put it into context, almost all of the normal humanoid ones could straddle Battle Cat's saddle without issue.
