it's a yearly investment for them (and I say this as somebody who witnessed a vendor give away his Ogra Bandais near the end of the convention during G2K's release) and to skew sellers just because you got a whiff of corporate is exactly what happened to Comic-Con.
I don't sympathize the action of it, and how defensive people are about it is really obnoxious to me, but they are doing a service and investing in the convention as another middleman, I understand the hustle to make money. We have phones to check prices, we know the big names, we can check Mandarake, we can learn how to use Yahoo Japan like they did, you can make a choice to avoid the boogeymen you fear, but that situation itself is too unfair whether you want take a moral high ground.
>>5748433Not really, Bluefin doesn't have a broad market, even their dip into X-Plus isn't good enough because they only have the license for 25c, so demand for 30cm and the RIC releases hasn't changed significantly.
In any case I doubt any of this matters because I'm pretty sure they'll just move out the weird pottery booths into the lobby or whatever.
