>>5752410>he's never been to SDCC>never seen people not buying something because it's not SDCC exclusive>ill buy it later>doesn't because he used all his money at SDCCor he just doesn't care anymore.
>The exclusives still sell like wildfire even if they are available to non-attendees.Except for TRU and B&N stuff? Hot Topic(orwhoeverthatwas)? EE too. Pretty much every retailer that gets the "exclusive" gets stuck with them and clearanced off.
>Spoken like a true person who has never been to SDCC. If you are at SDCC you hardly have "money burning holes in their pockets."LOLOLOLOL
Have you been to any of the after parties or anywhere social at the end of the day? People buy shit just because it's there, ESPECIALLY exclusives. People are buying a whole mess of stuff there and many of these people aren't waiting at 3am to preorder something from amiami, muchless stalk those 2nd hand sites to find good deals. They just see something and they splurge.
If one isn't exclusive or can be bought at a later date they WILL buy another exclusive instead. That's something i was just talking to my brother about a couple of hours ago, because if he doesn't get X, he'll get Y instead or just buy something to resell.
Even fucking soccermoms know that something that's actually exclusive to the convention itself is going to go for more money than one that isn't and random booths at the convention will have signs saying what they're looking for if they do not. Oh, and EVERY VENDOR at the convention and every family member they bring with them knows this too.
>The company still makes their money. It depends on the company, retailer, and customers.
