So let's get down to brass tacks. Why do you collect toys? I don't mean to judge anyone as I have quite a collection of toys myself, but if you're an adult or a young adult, why do we even keep not only our old toys, but even go as far as buying new ones?

My reason? it gives me a power trip, it makes me feel good being able to control humanoid action figures and have them do my bidding because in real life I don't really have that much control over others, so I guess I'm making up for that lack of control (which sounds kind of pathetic on hindsight...), but this is especially the case when it comes to female action figures which is what I collect mostly as I think I tend to objectify women as objects for our pleasure and advantage.

There are of course many other reasons such as nostalgia, collectibility, decoration purposes or even bragging rights if you have friends that also happen to collect toys.

TL;DR: Why do we grown-ass adults like to collect toys?
