>>5788839There's the OVA series, you saw the first two seasons on Toonami, and a third came out in like, 06.
There's Tenchi Universe, also called Tenchi TV. The difference is that it's as separate canon from the OVAs, with the characters having slightly different backgrounds and a runtime of 26 minutes an episode. It's good, but the characterization isn't up to the standards of the OVA. Watch it, and the three movies.
Tenchi in Tokyo was the one where they showed how boring Tench iis away from the girls, and how listless the girls are without Tenchi. Most consider it to be shit.
After the haitus, there was Tenchi Muyo GXP, following a friend of Tenchi's from school, who got shanghaied into becoming a space cop like Mihoshi.
I liked it, but not everyone enjoys Nabeshin's direction of the show. The creator, Masaki Kajishima was so unsatisfied that he wrote a light novel series fixing it.
OVA 3 was sub-par with major pacing issues, but there are some nice moments. A new girl gets added, but she might grow on you. She's suspiciously similar to Kiyone, from Universe.
Give it a try.
Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari is the reason I have hope for OVA 4.
It follows Tenchi's little brother(his dad got remarried at the end of OVA 3) who got sent to another world. It's the best thing since OVA 1. Kenshi can seem like a Gary Stu, but when you think he's OP, remember who trained him.
And if you're wondering who won, everyone did. Kajishima's thing is Harem Ends in almost every series. If it doesn't have a harem end, he probably didn't write it.
