Here she is without the cloak. I've been swapping around shells and arms. Unfortunately the Stringer mask sits too low so that's not an option.

Despite her being super simple and not too original, I like her.

Umarak in general this year has really hit it out of the park. I did revamp my Destroyer to be more like the Doomarak combiner, but they're great. Thanks LEGO. What's your favorite G2 set?

There's a lot of narrative benefit to be had in Ekimu getting killed or otherwise kept out of the future story now, right after he saved the day once and right before the final battle against the guy who's basically his evil counterpart begins. Unfortunately, I've seen this kind of chance wasted way too often to actually get my hopes up.

So I picked up a Skull Basher with the TRU sale to try and mod into a FemSkull. I figure those bigger shells used on the lower legs can be moved up to the thighs and rotated out to make some Hartman hips, plus the other two shells could make some decent breasts. I plan on using Kulta's skull mask since I got a golden skull mask for Kulta.

Any recommendations to the idea? I've never MOC'd a bonkle before.

Sounds like a plan.

Maybe for the thighs, try connecting the skull knee armors with technic pieces instead of a ccbs shell. In other words, add it onto a technic leg that can hold other armor pieces on the front or back instead of only having armor on the side of a ccbs leg.

It's definitely better than having it run until they absolutely can't go on anymore and ending up with another STARS situation.
A proper conclusion that comes with good sets is honestly one of the best things G2 can contribute to the franchise as a whole.

Then there's modified Hordika from Kalmah, Pridak's clown shoes, Mantax, Shadow Matoran clawed foot and finally ones used for Stars.

Then there's some that could be argued, like Visorak and the ones on Bitil and Gorast, but they weren't made to be specifically foot.

You have to get used to the idea that you may not get every little piece you want. It's not like shopping out of a lego parts catalogue.

Keep a wanted list, multiple if it helps organize the pieces you want into more manageable groups. You can search for stores according to which best fills your list, but if you prioritize a specific part(s) then work backward - check stores that sell that piece and see what else they have on your wanted list. The more reviews, the larger the store and its inventory tend to be.

Although some of the biggest stores are overpriced to hell.

Some have parts cut off, most, however, don't, as it isn't necessary.
The pins that are used to hold the cheeks also allow for them to be posed as being peeled apart.

It's quite possible to figure out how some of these things work just by looking, NSSD takes a lot of pictures and has a fuckton of MOCs.

On second thought you're probably right, there's a connection in the usual Nimbutt that only effectively seems to come out from heresy, namely the connection done on the hip ball joint parts, usually it's made from a cut HF bone.

Ah well, NSSD has a tutorial for all of this, and sells asses on occasion too. You can find it for yourself. He really brought Bonkle ass technology into its own, if you ask me.

I wouldn't be able to really properly guess. Bionicle masks, especially as old as that one. have much more specific connections than parts like nuva shoulders, which have clear and obvious means of being connected to, say, System parts like Kiri there uses.

Additionally, NSSD is super liberal about putting his designs up, like I mentioned he has made tutorials for and still sells Nimbutts, amongst other things. It's possible to understand some of the stuff he doesn't post tutorials for, but you can still -see- a little bit of it.

I would guess, as of right this moment, that ti's a bracket piece with a hole, like the Moenicle 2.0 frames used. I'm still baffled by how the 3.0s have their boobs built but after getting a better look at Toa-Ju's Bionicants and seeing how the used camwheels and angle connectors I think I may understand it a smidge better? I doubt it.

If it's not that I'd think it could be nearly any piece that has the room to fit a stud into, but I'd think it's a System piece.

I've only done it once. My Ignika had zero friction so I super glued in an axle. Kinda regret it now, but atleast the Ignika doesn't fall off now.

The worst one I own is an Axonn mask my friend fucking ruined. First he burned it with a lighter so it would look battle damaged, but that fucked up its connector, so he shittily glued it to a mata head, but later broke it back off. It will not stay on a head very well at all now, it's fin is warped, and the face is all fucked.

Ekimu and the Mask of Creation have been consistently associated with trans light blue, so I was excepting the Mask of Control to be associated with trans purple to match Makuta.
Yet now the Mask of Control is associated with trans neon green and purple is apparently assigned to the Mask of Ultimate Power instead. It's weird.

See, it's not so bad when its just a single vehicle type thing, I have very little interest in it and prefer structures/buildings 100%, but that's not the lego way nowadays. It's hard to say. It feels as though the new Makuta actor is trying to recreate Lee Tockar's style but adding a touch more savagery into the tones. I could have sworn in the first two episodes he sounded deeper, but I might be misremembering. It could just be his interpretation of what an excited Makuta would sound like.

Although Umarak's voice definitely has changed. Not sure what's going on there.

So I just got the rest of Tahu in the mail today. I'll post pics later but I just wanted to say that I've actually found a way to use a Brain Attack head with his Stars mask. It basically makes the need for a glatorian head completely unnecessary and there's no parts warping/ bumping together either. I'll show it off soon.

I don't care if those aren't actual sets. The printed pieces and the Mask of Ultimate Power are obviously going to be released next year, and the rest of the figures can be built with the existing pieces.
I just want them to publish the instructions to build them. Lots of good building techniques to learn there.

Makuta seems to be looming over a balcony giving a gand speech in the Shadow Realm and I bet you it'll pan down to show an army of Shadow Minions. Wht sets has this appeared in before? is it a new recolor? Same goes for those umarak antler pieces in gold.

I feel like if we can identify new pieces, we can figure out to some extent what the final design (if we even get one) might look like. So far it seems likely that it will have

I just feel like the other models make such an effort to only use G2 Bionicle pieces from sets that were released in this line, that any new pieces / recolors we see may be something in the 2017 parts lineup.

Well you got me with Speeda Demon and Jet Rocka though. But then again, they were both 35$ at that time, and the Overlord Makuta is clearly bigger, so he would be even more expensive, which is why it's very unlikely he will be made into an actual set.

I'm sure that -- just like most theme departments at LEGO -- the CCBS guys have a bunch of pieces in different colors to help in-house designs look just right. That of course includes color variations that have yet to be released.

You know, comparing him to the Tohunga he doesn't look that tall after all. Sure, he's a big guy, but try imagining there's a Toa next to him. He's definitely taller than Umarak the Destroyer, but I don't think he's as tall as Grievous. Which is only a good thing as it increases the chances of him being able to be sold as an official set.

Giving a spider of that size six legs and size 5 shells is just asking for zero posability. The exposed balls are lazy. Replace the yellow bones with the hand piece and either build small Technic feet or attach IFB claws to them.
The hands just look bad compared to the Hydraxon hand design, which was around seven years earlier. Replace the bottom finger of that design with two 2M Technic half-beams to hold the staff in. Keep the axlehole/bar piece if you need to.
