And regarding Van Eyck, that's where my enjoyment drops.
Because while his details and backgrounds are stupendous and mind-blowing in their sense of depth, detail, and perspective…his faces still all look very Putin-esque. Like very sad, hollow puppets that I don't want to look at with their dead eyes judging me. I only picked the Arnolfini Wedding because it's very recognizable and that seems to be the theme they're going with.
C'mon. Who doesn't want to add the soulless, creepy faces of Van Eyck to their collection of lovingly detailed school girls?
