Except not really.

It's a bad scene. Poorly acted.
Stuff from the cartoon are better than that shit.
So it isn't just people having nostalgic feelings about their childhood comics, remembering things wrong, and stuff like JLU isn't even from my childhood (which got a BD release this past year).
