Well, they've had Marvel Legends exclusives in the past that they've sold on their websites as well as in the stores.They usually get entire boxes of JUST the one figure so they're readily available.

So, help me out here, guys.

The HTS version of Fort Max is gonna be 180, not counting whatever the shipping is. Now, the only reason I'd want it is for that sweet looking Master Sword.

Is it worth that, or should I just get the regular version?

I moved recently and it looks like my Blackjack's shoulder joint got messed up. Any ideas on how to fix it? I try pushing it but the plastic looks like it could tear. I've already tried WD40

QC issues have been very questionable and the transparent joint plastic isn't holding up

If it's the sword you are after there are easier options going either 3rd party or that Asian distributed master sword.
It cost about the same buying the 3rd party sword and a standard Max.

You could go the 3rd party route or use a adapter for the G1 version. Or buy for it 180 then sell it without the sword for 150 or something

Get the regular, SDCC has serious QC problems, and you can probably get the regular version cheaper, shit, Amazon had it for $120 a few days ago already.

Plus you can buy a 3P sword if you really want a giant hunk of plastic like that.

I'd be wary about using chemicals on plastic. Never know what might have a negative reaction. Could try softening it up by soaking it in some hot water.

Ah, I see. Looks like some damage has already been done(?). You could try soaking it in hot water for a while to see if that makes it more malleable. The other option would be to try and push the pin out completely, which would also be helped by a hot bath.

It would be sweet, but I understand the concerns. Combiner Wars made a LOT of compromises for the sake of a decent whole, and with the MO of cartoon accuracy for the MP line, it does seem a bit much. Still, I'd like to see them try. I'd suffer some inaccuracies for a good Menasor.

Plus, I feel like the real "meat and potatoes" of the G1 Decepticon ranks are Combiners. Outside of that it's really just the seekers and such.

Plus, G1 cartoon combiners look hella dumb. They're mostly just a giant robot wearing vehicles on their pants and sleeves. I actually prefer some stylization with combiners. CW had it right, but just at too low of a price point to truly succeed.

The problem is that I never cared for the CW deluxes, and this really doesn't do much to fix them. I care about the single bots as much as I do the whole, and I'd rather wait to see if anyone else can do better, official MP or not.

For the jet molds yeah. For the later molds like the Rook mold and the Brawl mold they have waist swivels and ankle tilts. That already puts them above legends articulation

And they all have bicep swivels which is something most if not all Legends figures don't have

To be honest I prefer that to overly complicated designs. I would rather a figure with a simple enough, but clever, transformation and the bare minimum articulation to a crazy movie deluxe or something else that is complex for the sake of being complex.

Oh I absolutely agree, though I'd say a fun transformation is more important. Rook/Swindle/Hound is the sweet spot for a deluxe, I think, they have everything I want but aren't overly complicated.

Which sucks because MTMTE made me interested in Chromedome. I might still pick him up if I see him, I have a soft spot for a decent car-former. Might look into Highbrow as well. As it seems, Hardhead is probably going to be my favorite for this series.

The figure is really weird.
I can see where they are going with this but overall it is full of problems.

Forget about the G1 toy, the arm cannon should really be on the side.
The arms are long like Harambe. The black fin doesn't click to anything when in space craft mode. The treads get in the way of the arms. The laughable titan master head gimmie. And the QC- the cannon doesn't plug into the holes without falling out.

If not for the horrible previous deluxe version, i would say this is a dud.

yes it does?

Make sure you snap the canon's engine into place first, it took me about a day before I realized that if it's not properly snapped before I attach it, the weight distribution changes.

for test fitting parts it will probably work acceptably well, but don't expect any sort of detail to come out, a face on a deluxe or even a voyager size figure will look like trash unless you're printing very slow on a very finely tuned machine, and even then it's not going to be phenomenal

you're going to have to tweak it right out of the box too, I don't have a davinci but there are a few simple mods that are paramount to getting it to perform at peak. nothing too complex, you might still have to flash it to get it to accept 3rd party filament idk. if you're a very diy person let me recommend the wanhao duplicator i3, I have one and I love it, but you're going to have to make a few slightly more complex mods to it to get it to work, but it's about $200 cheaper than a davinci, there's a pretty active facebook support group which helps and they can tell you where the best place to buy one from at any given time is, just stay away from WanhaoUSA which is not the manufacturer but some shitty reseller who capitalizes on the name

Would it have been preferable that he have gotten the full Headmaster treatment? Sure.

But... Is he a fun little minifig and vehicle on his own merit? I rather think so.. My only issue is he cant sit in the jet mode normally. He will however plug into it for a streamlined look

Not sure who they could really re-use Apeface's jet for, as there are few ape Transformers. Maybe an Optimus Minor homage?

I'm aiming for the complete takara set and have hardhead and skullcruncher in the mail as we speak with the sdcc fort max to match, but that exclusive brainstorm seems tempting, something about the solo packed one pleases me aesthetically.

The easiest and cheapest option would of been to grab all of the hasbro headmaster team (since I have a thing for complete sets) but alas, Australia for all of its advanced releases DOESN'T have the deluxes in so I went takara...

But would it be a dumb idea to have 2 different brainstorms, both financially and mixes with my sets, it would not surprise me if we totally miss the first wave of deluxes at this point after the shitstorm CW caused.

So I got off my lazy arse and decided to paint him up, right now I'm doing stuff I can fix over anything more difficult and less fixable.

Some tamiya acrylic purple to match takara's galvatron with a purple headcrest to make him stand out a tad, some "chrome silver" on the face to help it "pop", and red and black on the Nucleon figure to actually be a mini megatron.

I left the sides of his feet clean so I can handle the figure once completed, the megatron is 90% complete as far as I'm concerned (for as shit as the eyes are I'm not willing to repaint that) while the galvatron head is 75%, planning tonight to use some clear red for some candy red eyes (I have fluro orange but I only like the look on gundam thrusters).

Thoughts? (Yes I got a bit too much black on the knee's, this is a work in progress).

To help protect it afterwards gonna topcoat in gloss, at this point the galvatron face looks "good" and conflicted into doing the rest in purple or not

The paint on Nucleon's not bad. I would want some red on his inner arms, but that's not necessary.

I don't know what to make of the Galvatron face though. The minimal purple is a fine idea, but it might look terrible on the Voyager body unless you paint it all purple. I suggest trying it on the body first and seeing how it looks before moving forward.

Well it is to mimic the effect on the takara figure, pic left was the inspiration with just the crown jewel as I like to call it added in for a personal touch.

I suppose I could do the rest of the head, I'll see how I go, but example on the right is something I hope no one here does, but hay, its their figure I guess, just something that doesn't work.

(also the choice of purple on mine was paint left over from another project but its pretty close, if not oh well)

Tempting idea actually, it'll match hasbro toy aesthetics, the problem would be paint control since I'm not the best as well as paint rub issues, there is no primer and a topcoat will only hold for so long, but its something I will explore, thanks for the input

Catering for completionist who want one of every character despite knowing they're either redeco's or retools of he same mold, the fact that the mp3 and mp11 molds also scale as 1/60 jets also makes them unique.

I honestly hope once those 3 are done that's it, I expect hasbro to pump out an mp11 based skywarp but no more, infact IF they do remake them I HOPE its after 10 years, with a new mold, perhaps a different scale of jet, to allow something different of the mold and its limitations

I'm guessing they put them as webshop exclusives to justify the need to retool such an old mold, otherwise they could of easily put them up as regular releases/went straight for the newest version of the mold

Galvatron and Alpha Trion are the only single release toys so far in the line.

The Clones are rumored to be coming in 2017. Given we already have 20 Deluxes and the history of them being sold as a pair they could make up the rest of the 2017 Voyager line.

Rumors also suggest that the Megatron/Blitzwing mold will be released as Overlord, but that could just be fan speculation based on seeing a tank and plane and putting 2 and 2 together to get 5. Given what we know about the third act of the Prime Wars Trilogy, the character would be better suited for the 2018-2019 Product Line anyway, despite his Power Master origins. So 50/50 either line.

You're better off using Shapeways. I had a Printrbot a couple years ago and sold it. I probably ended up dumping $500 extra dollars in parts into the damn thing on top of the $1000 purchase price and days on end of calibration and tweaking. Not once in 9 months did I get a single print that ever came close to acceptable.

There's too much bullshit required with RepRap style extrusion printers to ever warrant buying one; almost invariably they are made for people that are entertained by the notion of tinkering with a machine rather than people who actually want to make anything.

My "buy list" for Titans Return is fairly small.

Deluxe-class: All 7 of the original Head Masters. Probably Hot Rod too. That's it.

Larger Toys: So far only Sixshot and a Greatshot redecos if it happens. Just not interested in the Triple Changers, Boom boxes, PMOP or Galveston. Alpha Trion is okay. Need to see better pictures of that one.

My largest buys will be the Titan Masters. I have all 8 from 2016 already. They're the best Transformers toy crack since the Mini Cons and Micro Master patrols.

The three new molds in Wave 1 of 2017 are just tiny delights. Can't wait for them. The rest of the 2017 TMs are likely to be just as awesome, so I'm getting them all. Even the repaints. Bring on more tiny Beasts!

Have a question for you guys.
I recently started collecting again after a hiatus and started by buying combiner wars bruticus.
I'm impressed they seem to be giving bots ankle pivots these days, anyways I fell in love wi9th him so bought the perfect effect hands and feet upgrades too.

Anyway my problem is with his legs, or rather onslaughts combiner legs. They are held together with a single peg that DOES NOT support the weight of an entire robot dangling from it. They slip apart easy causing onslaughts real legs to fold out and giving bruticus extra long spindly legs.

Surely I'm not the only one having this problem and is there an easy fix?

No idea, I know my normal dealer (premium collectables) had their pre-order set for August, and their stock is usually from hasbro asia, perhaps those guys pushed them out faster than US retailers.

You could try asking them, I seen a few english posters post, but they aren't common and get a low response rate (which is why I lurk)

I think I know the problem, was common on defensor but less so on bruticus.

Mind posting pics for clarification, sounds like the leg struts not being aligned correctly.

(If its g2 bruticus you may of had a faulty one, they have issues other than the g2 colors)

When you fold onslaights real legs up to make the combiner thighs, the actual structure is held together by a SINGLE peg. That easily slips out causing the legs to fold apart again when it has the weight of a transformers attached to it. It looks like a design flaw to me since I'm not sure one peg could ever hold all that weight.

Is there a fan transformation or something top alleviate the problem?

The majority of the 1986 Movie characters are in TR because they were in the 1987 Target Masters assortment. The Platinum line is the Movie celebration line.

Beast Wars will have its day, just not the immediate future. The 1987 thru 1990 catalogs are too full for BW cast to be filler just yet. Maybe post-Prime Wars.

Takara Scourge and Blur are so much better than the Hasbro ones because of the colors, but Hardhead and Skullcrusher on the Hasbro side shit all over those mushy faced rejects on the Takara side, as they have the superior deco and facial sculpts. Plus don't cost 2x as much.

tl;dr If you're smart, you'll buy Tak Blur/Scourge and Has Hard/Skull.

Here's an idea, don't buy them and stop being such a baby when other people have a different opinion that you. It's just toys, not RL issues that actually matter.

There's obviously a lot of people who DO like them because they're fun. Which was the whole purpose of toys before nostalgia became a thing.

To the reasonable people who don't know, the $10 price point isn't as strong a seller as the $5 or $15 Deluxe lines. Hasbro will likely use that price point to fill out the Cassettes, Mini-Autobot, Seeker and Insecticon lines, and maybe introduce other Minibot lines like the Throttlebots, Firecons, Sparkabots and the Triggerbots/cons. That's a better use of the price point than making large toys as minis. (Yes, I remember the Seekers exist in this scale. They are just for inexpensive Troop Building, not to replace the main Jets.)

Hasbro knows that kids LOVE owning piles of little robots. Adding a secondary function to them like the Target Master weapon modes and extra heads is just gravy and entices them to buy the more expensive figures in the line.

That was why Armada became the best selling line up since G1. Minicons. Minicons. Minicons. We have 24 Titan Masters coming in this range. Expect more if they sell anywhere near Minicons levels, even as just dollar store exclusives like the Minicons became.

Most of us realize the simple reality that for Combiner teams, it's all or none and batting 6 out of 6 is impossible. But really in comparison to other Decepticon Combiner War Teams the Stunticons fared much more poorly with 3 out of 5 and the Combaticons with only 2 out 5, but sadly you take what you get.

I love Minicons. I hate these. Minicons at least have a 2nd mode, while a majority of these don't, without a larger figure. They also have worse articulation than most Minicons, which is really pathetic.

Crashbash is my favorite after Apeface. I swapped out the yellow in Clobber with the gray on CB and hes even better. The beasts have been so much fun, im really excited that 2017 Wave 1 will launch with four Beast Titan Masters. Ptero, Sawback and Fangry look like they'll be the best ones yet. Even if Overkill is a redeco, he's a redeco of a mold I adore. Can't wait for more Dinos!

You people are literally whining because a $5 toy has two modes, an extra gun mode and a pilot/rider. A Marvel Legends figure has one mode for $20.

I'm talking about the aesthetics of the characters and overall build and QC issues. Breakdown and Motormaster both fail in terms of QC/build. Swindle in terms of aesthetics. Onslaught in terms of engineering. Brawl in terms of QC.
