There was a time where Bandai had an unspoken gentleman's agreement that they will not touch Takara's previous sponsored properties. But when they saw that Takara wasn't doing jack-shit with them, they started including them in their games, opening the floodgates for toys.
>>5857214It's the same situation. Tomy made Zoids and had the license for Eldoran toys but they aren't doing anything about them currently besides licensing Kotobukiya to make their kits.
If you want a better takara related example, go back to the Magne Robo series from the 70s, Kotetsu Jeeg, Ga Keen, etc. Takara sponsored those shows back then and had the dibs to their license but they haven't touched them in decades.
