Yes, he can still order minions around from the Shadow Realm, but it does him no good at all anymore. The only reason he did any of this shit was to attempt an escape and rule Okoto. Both of those things are impossible now, so why fucking bother? The Toa won.

Think about it like this: his ONLY small chance of returning at this point is if someone else forges a second Mask of Ultimate Power. There are only TWO ways he could possibly make that happen from the Shadow Realm. Either he uses the Mask of Control to directly possess another being on Okoto so that he can forge a new mask using their hands as his own (which he can't fucking do anymore because the MoCo was completely destroyed). OR he gets Ekimu to do it, which is NEVER going to happen. I doubt Ekimu will ever teach anyone else on the island to forge masks either, for fear that they might be persuaded to work for Makuta. It was made clear; everybody except for the Makers know fuckall about forging Masks of Power. They might not even have the capacity to learn either. It could be a mystical ability that the regular Okotan species isn't even capable of.

I remember seeing him as a kid and wanting to buy him, not sure the exact model name, all i know is that he is makuta.

That particular model was never made. However, he is somewhat based on a combo model 10202 Ultimate Dume.

Then there's 8593 Makuta from the year before, and also 10201 Takutanuva from when he combines with Takanuva.

Actually, its strange that he was never made, I remember as a kid having the dvd of this film.

There was an option to watch a video about how the Bionicles are made, and I FUCKING SWEAR they showed a prototype of THIS makuta.

seriously, it was grey with no color on the body, and the wings had fabric, but actually, thinking about it now it might have been two or three combined by the artists.

So.. basically if i am correct it was just something they built for themselves

so yeah its like you say, he was never made into an official toy. I wonder why... I would have bought it.

Isn't it pretty much his MoL design with wings tacked on? They probably didn't want to release almost identical versions of the same titan two years in a row. They could have gone for a more movie-like design instead, but for some reason they did neither and just made Ultimate Dume.

I started a kitbash of the MoL design a few years back and tried to stick as close to the model as I could, but there's so much about it that doesn't function without heavy modification.
>knees, hips, and ankles can't support the design's weight
>the elbows have to use cut pneumatic tubes instead of 2L axles for articulation
>kodan claws for the calves have to be cut and glued in place, if the glue sticks to the material at all
>midsection joint is two Technic #1 connectors with 3L axles and voodoo balls on the ends, pinned onto the upper body

What I think happened was that there were specific sections designed with parts on-hand, but it never actually made it to the custom prototype stage before the lineart was developed with artistic liberties. From there the CGI artist simplified elements. The same seems to have happened with Nidhiki.

Fun fact: The added-on Nivawk wings used 7L double sockets at least a full year before they went into production for the Visorak.

The lower legs of Metru also looked eerily similar to Piraka arms, but that's probably just a coincidence

Usually, just modifiying the Protector Ekimu model with trans-purple from the Earth Protector, Onua, or Skull Basher is how to do it. The Uniter Onua has different sized bones that would be your best resource for the trans-purple.

Is this what getting cucked feels like? Especially with how it ended just throwing that light and shadow and huge makuta shit in our face in the last episode. Imagining a proper last year, a proper ending to this year and a full next year makes me a little mad. G2 was a good theme with a good understandable world if you thought a little below the surface. Could have been a good simple little theme, the structure for everything was there. It's not like there aren't successful action figures nowadays. I'd call Lego higher ups a bunch of money-grubbing kikes, but I think the stereotypical Jew at least understands a return on investment. Such a shame really. RIP Okoto.

So for the Makuta contest the rules recommend taking pictures on a neutral background free from background clutter. Does this mean a photo taken outside would be frowned up? Also are pictures showcasing dynamic action (like Makuta facing down 2015 Ekimu) a bad idea? I had an idea for a picture of Makuta holding the Mask of Creation in one hand and holding a maskless Ekimu by his arm in the other hand. I'm also afraid it would be seen as too violent.

Imagine if LoSS was just a G2 Muaka and Kulta instead came with the GMoSS, and the Skull Spiders were the sole focus of the year while also giving us better foes and a stronger callback to G1.

Basically HF 3.0 mixed with 2001.

Just recently got myself a used rahkshi, got it on amazon for like 18 usd, it will come with everything, plus the box.

Doubtful. Like they said, it's recommended to avoid having to deal with dark and blurry photos but not totally compulsory. As long as it's easy enough to see in good light and have enough shots to show everything off, shooting anywhere should be fine.

The only thing that kills me is

A. Body/leg proportions
B. Colors used

Seriously they aren't as complex as the old ones but they're OK, but I would like LEGO to make more complex sets like OP's pic related but if they don't sell then thats too bad.

I'm not sure why they don't go for the collector market, I'd love adult/collector figurines that are complex and are 70+ USD, like sure, it would be expensive but they would be able to make cooler designs for adults.

something like the Play Arts Kai figures, but bionicle, i mean in terms of quality and intricacy, not literally.

Making Shapeways kits for that exact purpose has been floating around in my head for a while. I think some of the Mata limbs are in LDraw, so I could export their models for gap-filling, re-articulation, and maybe some slight proportional improvements or variations. There could also be versions with or without semi-canon organic tissue detail.

For being the main villain of a story based toyline that lasted for 10 years, Makuta/Teridax sure got very few official toy deceptions of him.

All we've really had is the 2003 set, a solid figure that is sort of outdated in terms of height and articulation. All the others are combiners, like Makuta Nui or Ultimate Dume. Well, then there was Maxilos, who looked so much like an updated 2003 Makuta that I find it hard to believe it was a coincidence.

It's sort of funny that, once again, we have to rely on a combiner and other unofficial ways to get ourselves a toy form for Makuta.

I'm sorry but this is just hilarious. This bastard has already had at least 10 people buy his mask and people are NOW just pointing out how inaccurate it is to the JtO version. Like, how was it not obvious? Were they just in denial because they wanted to believe that they weren't wasting money on a poorly sculpted piece?

And let's not forget the maker. There was an absolute shitload of photos to draw reference from, even simply freeze framing the flashback scene from JtO and not once did he realize how fucking squashed the silhouette of his model is compared to the source material? Come on. And putting "JtO Accurate" on his listing just makes it that much more baffling.

Well I don't mean eyes at the normal human proportion, just a bit less spread apart. Along with that, a slightly reduced "crest" on the forehead, which would give the eyes some room to be a little larger.

Yeah, it's definitely flawed. Better than that other flat, blocky one, but still not perfect. The scummy part is how the modeler hasn't made any of the easiest fixes, presumably because he knows he has the best current option and will sell it either way.

I'm also waiting for MoUP-anon to deliver, and if he dies in a plane crash tomorrow I can probably model one just as accurate. I have moderate experience with Blender and curves are my only real challenge, which this is low on.

Like, it's supposed to be the MoUP and these dipshits would rather it not even look like the mask it's representing at the expense of all the others who just want an accurate version. Not saying there aren't better versions in the works but why not try to make it what it's supposed to be? Like how fucking selfish are these guys? Fucking make your own fucked version or request a separate listing so we can have both, instead of potentially fucking people who just want a version that looks like its source material.

I think the thing that stings the most about the cancellation is just how much potential it had to me. I really, really liked the idea of a straight forward, 3-years-and-done story that wrapped up all the loose ends and died peacefully. I enjoyed the hell out of G1, but I admit it overstayed its welcome in the story department. G2 would've ended after a very appropriate amount of time, and all the sets were fuckin rad imo.

G2 must've done astronomically terrible for them to cancel outright like this. Like, this type of thing just doesn't happen out of the blue. This had to be decided months ago, so 2015 must've sold like shit.

Someone please ask the guy to make a separate listing for the newer version and request that instead of rushing it, he take the time to fix the head connection/possibly enlarge it without having to warp the dimensions and lose what accuracy it currently has. I've made custom ones similar to your own except with the gold Kulta mask, but it's just not the same. I'd totally just do a custom if we never saw a real model for the MoUP, but we have, and it ended up being my favorite mask design of G2 as a whole. So no, customs don't cut it and I have money to burn. And I have faith in MoUP anon but Cyberhands is getting pretty close to the show model minus the rounded edges. My rant is simply if you plan on making the MoUP, don't fucking half ass it for the impatient brats whining about the time it's taking to finish it.

People are willing to buy this guys product and he's shitting on them for giving constructive criticism. They're not picky. No yeah, the head connector in this shot is clearly much larger in his net than on the head. It's also cocked upward too. If he just reduced the ratio of the head connectors to the rest of the mask, straightened them out and enlarged the piece as a whole to scale with the G2 head, it'd be good.

They're okay. I got all 7 main sets back in the day and one of the small ones not too long ago from BL. God they're expensive for what they are.

Funnily, I have an almost complete collection on Slizer-disks, and yet I couldn't be less interested about Roborider-wheels, even though they're almost the same concept

Makuta, Scion of Ultimate Power is an excellent combiner. Much better than Ultimate Dume, but 11 years on and with this many components I'd expect no less.

I used the burning Umarak mask because no-one else seemed to have tried it yet and I think it works really nicely. The colours are also reminiscent of the silhouetted MOUP in the Legend of Okoto video

I just want a fucking 3D file, the model is good, there are a few adjustments I would make if I could, but the printing job is kinda lackluster and I would rather do the whole thing myself.

Nah in terms of official variations of Makuta, this one is easily the best. The way he's built, the overall silhouette, his height and his two neat little weapons as well as the gearbox make him my favorite ccbs "set" by far. Grevious was cool, but he was gappy as hell. And Witch Doctor was great, but everything he did, Makuta does better.
(Kardas still destroys him in terms of Titans and combiners though)

If you really want just the mask that badly I'll see if it's possible but don't hold your breath. The only reason I'd do it is to justify buying two more packs for the extra stands for MoCo and MoCr, so the price of two more packs would probably be what you'd be looking at.

Wow. Cyber Hand made two versions of the mask. A bigger version for titan Makuta after his transformation, and a smaller version from the same model for when he first forges the mask. I believe he conducted several test prints to make sure the connections on both of them fit well.

I appreciate that, actually. I think it's something I didn't know I wanted until just now.

You'll probably want them in the String and Flexible material, otherwise the mask attachment tabs might snap off.

And yeah, painting them is probably the best way. You could get it made in metal though, which would look much cooler and be stronger, but of course that'll be a lot more expensive.

Otherwise maybe try Tamiya stuff. They do paints in spray form, and I imagine they'd have a similar gold. You can generally find it at hobby shops anywhere.

The mask connectors. People are worried that they'll break depending on the material, right? Well CybeHands' mask isn't hollowed out in the back like most G2 masks, where the connectors are long, thin tabs jutting out. Instead he's carved the round nu and grooves that would be on said tabs into the sides of the cavity. In short, there shouldn't be any snapping, and if anything, bending is greatly reduced if not eliminated.

Yours is a very good standard moc but not something extraordinary.

And I prefer the Mask Breaker over sorcerer, it conveys more of the type of Makuta that the designers tried to establish, Sorcerer is cool on his own right but the whole thing is very "un-Makuta"

This is a big reason why I like My Maqt. I think she looks 'simple' enough to fit in with actual sets, instead of being overdesigned like most MOCs end up.

I'm probably going to swap the boobplate back for the gunmetal one instead of the gold one. I think the gold sticks out too much and blends with the mask too much.

There isn't much I can do with the chest. I liked the idea of using the Skull armor piece to represent breasts, thematically fitting in with the other Skull Army while also doing something different than Nuva tits. I could probably replace the trans-purple ribcage with a normal shell to make it smaller. But the goal for her was to make a female Skull Army character, which ended up mixing with Makuta because I thought fem Makuta would be interesting. That's why she has the skeleton bone pieces instead of normal bones.

The way the chest sticks out is a bit annoying, but it's the same problem with Kulta. If an official set gets away with it, I'm less annoyed about it here.

To this day, I find it funny that a minor villain like Karzahni (really, he was more important in 2006 than 2007) got a set and Artakha didn't.

No, I was talking about the pic you posted. I never heard "Voporak the Time Hunter" before so I thought it was a special version of the set I never heard of, akin to Takutanuva or Ultimate Dume. But all that exists is the 3-in-1 box without any special exclusive everyone knows about.

For the longest time, it was Tahu Mata and Nuva. They were my favorites, but I got into Bionicle a year or two late. We not only lived quite a ways from Walmart/TRU/anything of the sort, but my family was one of those that thought turning on a computer would result in a stolen identity, so ordering was out of the question too. I wanted those bastards for my entire childhood. But finally in 2009, ironically the year before bonkle was kill, a family member ordered them both for me. I was thrilled to finally get them, but I was 16 too so it wasn't quite the same as growing up with them. So you better believe I went as far as to pre-ordering Master Tahu when G2 first came about. It was symbolic to grab him so early on for me.

I missed out on Muaka and Kane Ra, and that set was both fundamentally similar AND (To eight year old me) infinitely cooler, and I pine on that set from the second it appeared in Lego Mania. It was all I talked about. Yet Christmas passed, no Bahrag Twins. My birthday passed, no Bahrag Twins. And now, roughly fourteen years later, I've finally won an auction for about four fifths of the parts. It feels nice knowing in a couple weeks I'll finally have closure on this.

I know that feel. That set has been on the top of my want list ever since I first saw a promo image of it. I remember looking at it in a store, all tantalizing, but my family had no money for it (even though the price it had at the time seems like nothing now). Some years ago I found three separate eBay auctions for it and that was it, I got one, putting a 12 year wait to rest.
