Anyway, back then, there were two kinds of Marvel Selects, statues with a joint or two and actual action figures. The action figures were beyond anything else we had. The statues, meh, but both came with some pretty decent display pieces. I have Doctor Doom and he had an actual throne to sit on. Plus removable hands, something you didn't really see until Figma/Figuarts took off.
So these days, I think they're totally outclassed by Marvel Legends, unless it's a larger figure like the Hulk. The biggest disappointment for me was AoU Black Widow who just turned out really pale to the point that I preferred the ML version. But at their price point, they are still a decent value because the articulation is fairly standardized and you still get the base pieces that were stripped from ML.
