Good topic but dunno if it'll gain any attraction. Guess I'll ask here, anyone have experience with the bootleg effects on Aliexpress? Tempted to get the black flames and explosion effects.

The flames are generally good and solidly recommended, but the explosion effects in general are kinda disappointing.

I own the purple flames and they're really pretty.

The red ones ended up being disappointed. It was very grimey.

Canofbeams makes really good stuff, but he only takes orders like once a month or something like that and they sell out fucking fast. Pic related is of some magnetic ricochet pieces I got off him. Kotobukia also makes a nice muzzle flash/ricochet set in their modeling support goods line, the flash part fits over the barrels of a lot of 1/12th guns.

It's really stunning that all of the bandai effects have gotten bootlegged in different colors EXCEPT for the lava colored impact set that was a con exclusive. Somebody decided to make clear flames before doing an actual thing that sells for $100?

I usually put stuff up about twice a month.

It'd be faster, but I've been working on a bigger project since july that's eating about half my time.

I'm working on the next batch now, which so far is looking like destructo discs, kamehamehas, and the rest is undecided. Blood sells like crazy but I literally just spent almost a week straight building out just blood stuff for the last round and I'm kinda burnt out, so it'll either be those or if people particularly want something else, that.

Protip, I'm EXTREMELY lenient to people who message me about this, and are patient, when I have a sale coming up.

Truth be told, last time I had a sale, everybody who asked got their stuff. I just made extra stuff to accomodate.

If people are patient and won't be angry if it doesn't ship for a week or two, it's all good.

Also, if this other project gets picked up, which it's either hitting kickstarter or a round of publisher presentation in about two to three months, I'm going to stop doing the canofbeams stuff and transition the site into a tutorial database.
