>>5923907These are some valid points, and I can see how the repaints/retools could get exhausting. However, if you look at the "canon" combiners and just ignore the OC combiners (Galvatronus, Optimus Maximus, Sky Reign, Victorion, and MegaEmpress), then it shouldn't be THAT tiresome to see some repaints/retools.
Superion - Great all around. Transformations were pretty boring, but so were the G1 figures. But, if you choose to ignore Alpha Bravo and put in Slingshot, you already have a combiner with two identical limbs. So that kind of sucks.
Menasor - This guy suffered from a REALLY shitty torso mode. The individual bots are good, but again, if you replace Offroad with Wildrider, you're stuck with two of the same molds. This set is pretty shitty, IMO
Defensor - Great set all around. Rook is awesome, and you can still get a proper Groove. What's not to like about this set?
Bruticus - Another good set. The problem is the fact that while a lot of people could stomach Blastoff as a Jet, Hasbro couldn't even be assed to remold the head or at least use the Airrade mold. Also, the UW Blastoff is shitty...so yea, there's that. Still, in combined mode, Bruticus is damn solid.
Computron - Yes, he's made up of a bunch of retools and redecos, but he looks almost exactly like the character. The UW version is made up of 5 REALLY great molds that come together really well too. The only drawback to this guy is that he's made up entirely of remolds and redecos...but he's still a really good representation of the character, and the best modern day Computron out there (and I'm including the 3rd party figures in this).
Lio Kaiser also looks really good to me, but I have no prior knowledge of the character. He just looks cool. Plus, I think the Sky Lynx torso looks great. I don't own Sky Lynx though, so maybe I'm missing some type of QC that he suffers from.
