>>5934842What am I looking at here? What's that supposed to look like? A Transformer or Starsaber? It honestly doesn't look much like either. What Transformers were as Diaclones and what they evolved into for the cartoon are two very different things.
The thing about Transformers is they need the car parts hanging off of them. I can't speak for most other fans, but I know that I like being able to tell that a robot can transform into something. You don't get that at all from Star Saber. He just looks like a big, Japanese robot. With the most stereotypical Gundam color scheme you've ever seen.
Someone always gets triggered whenever Star Saber gets compared to a Gundam, but it really boils down to one simple thing: They all look like Japanese robots, but Star Saber looks like a Japanese robot with no discernable alt mode. What's a popular kind of Japanese robot that doesn't transform? Gundam.
>>5934850Maybe if he looked cooler, I'd be able to get over not knowing him. After all, I didn't know Loudpedal because he never actually existed, but he looked cool as fuck, so I bought him.
Everything else you've typed is you just trying to justify things that don't matter to me. At the end of the day, his aesthetic is simply NOT Transformers. You can blather on about how it transitioned into Brave or Macross or whatever crazy Jap robot stuff you like, and that's great, but I don't care. Most Transformers fans don't.
