>>5943809When Kojima goes out of his way praising games like GTA while already lamenting how MGSV might never reach to such heights, then it's plain as day that his expectations over his own game are horribly marred when the two games couldn't be more different in their gameplay/genre-handling. Seriously, the guy takes on more from movies than other videogames in the industry, he couldn't be more up in the clouds about it than he already is.
>because not every single one of the MGS games have done this to its predecessor?Doing something wrong before doesn't mean that doing it again somehow makes it okay. MGS4 already shat up the franchise lore and yet still had the dignity to end it with a neat little bow. MGSV did the same and couldn't even get to the finish line when Kojima had practically 5 years to do it all. And what did we get Quiet-I'm-the-perfect-otaku-pandering-waifu-that-don't-talke? Horse-shitting? A literal life-sized sculpture of Code Talker's head? If that's not Kojima squandering on the development of his own game then I don't know what is.
>You really don't know what happened with this game's development, do you?Except I do and while I praised Kojima before, him getting booted essentially put a filter in everyone's eyes that somehow covered his ass from any scrutiny. Remember when people bitched about Kojima's shitty treatment of David Hayter?
The more I learned how he royally fucked around during development, the more I learned that what we got in the game still falls squarely on him. Konami was retarded for doing what it did, but you can't blame Konami for the uninspired direction and concepts that Kojima put into MGSV when he literally has his name stamped all over it. Being "unfinished" doesn't somehow excuse it either, as if the "phantom episode" wasn't already rehash of MGS1's final boss complete with Liquid even piloting a Rex-lite.
Also again, "good controls" doesn't equate to "good gameplay".
