Oddly enough, those are in the Large Figure Part-category.

Searching for CCBS is a fucking nightmare on BL. The basic parts are in at least 3 different categories (Hero Factory, Large Figure Part and Bonkle) with all sorts of other shit like Bonkle G1 parts and Knights Kingdom stuff.

I've never used them in a MOC since, but now I know I made the right decision back then. I seriously couldn't believe my eyes when I saw no one on Bricklink is currently selling them. I take that Spybots must've been a flop, I don't think I ever saw them in Italian stores.
Maybe they'll return one day, like the dark red Bohrok eyes from Umarak that used to be exclusive to Sidorak.

So for anyone who's built the JtO Makuta combiner, which parts of Ekimu and Umarak the Hunter are used? It's because I want to preserve them- I know Tahu, Onua, Kulta, LoSS, Ikir, and Umarak the Destroyer are all fodder for the grinder, but having Ekimu and best Umarak still around would feel much better, even if I'm 'losing' Kulta Kai to this model.

I know Ekimu loses his shield cover and I've heard that you also need his shoulder joints? As long as he can keep his shoulder pads I should be fine, considering I have an extra set of 2015 Toa, the skellies, and the Uniters all open for parts.

Almost none of Ekimu is used, just some bits amd pieces. A fair amount of UtH's Technic and every one of his black shells go in, but the bigger parts of the set are mostly preserved.

I get what you mean, every time I lightly tip my Greivous it always falls on its face. Makuta is very stable so far, don't recall ever wobbling or anything, my guess is Makuta is much heavier and that weight keeps it balanced while the General is very "floaty" to use a video game term.

I'm building JTO Makuta on LDD, I'm halfway through the body. Some pieces are definitely going to be missing (gearbox, G2 head and more) and I couldn't manage to connect all parts properly, so it looks like shit, but the file can still be used to make parts lists with whatever program/site you wish.
Is anyone interested in me sharing the completed file?

I'm building him following those really detailed instructions on imgur (the ones that split the model in torso, legs, arms and weapon + wrap up), while keeping an eye on the error fixes someone here posted. That's as far as accurate I can go, it's not that I'd be able to make better instructions myself anyway.

Yes, although I did the hammer differently to be more in-line with Ekimu's.

I enjoy using CCBS parts too, they can prove to be very versatile. I'm guessing they won't stop making the parts themselves, but they'll probably decrease the amount they produce, since current system sets rarely use more than a handful of CCBS parts, usually they give those sets mixel joints.

Phasma was a huge waste, they hired the knight lady from Game of Thrones for this role and the character is a useless bag of dicks in the movie.

Need some advice. Bought a large Bionicle lot lately and a sealed Toa Terrain Crawler was included. I have two other playset from back in the day, Visorak's Gate and Race for the Mask of Life. Most of the sets sucked ass because they were just crappy buildings made of one or two pillars. I think the crawler is the best of them, but it's up to you. I think they're one of the few MISB Bionicle sets that aren't worth much, though

I remember a few years back, when the missing pieces replacement was by phone, I called in saying I had bought Titan Takanuva and was missing 2 of the 3 bags. They ended up just shipping me a whole new set, and I basically scammed Lego into giving me a free set.

I just bricklinked the parts (only needed a few), just look at sets that has the piece you need and put it on a wanted list in the right color. from there you can find stores by pressing the buy all green button when you select your wanted list.

Aside from mask and couple of prints the product they would had possibly come up with wouldn't have been much different than what you can make with current pieces.

Try using Quake Beast's chest+Black piston addon for torso.

So I just made my first 2 bricklink orders, this site is pretty decent after all

ordered parts for agil and also a U piece to hold ekimus shield on his thigh. Had to order a ninjago polybag to get over minimum buy for an order but it seems pretty cool so all is well. I think if I did ever start buying system stuff again it would be ninjago anyway, their sets are really cool

Nah, I wouldn't. It would be way safer to deconstruct and store them. I use ziploc bags that I buy from the dollar store.

Personally, I probably go beyond what is necessary, but for the 2015 Toa, I stored each one in two separate sandwhich bags, one of transparent pieces and one for the primary and silver colors. I then put 3 Toa together in gallon bag.

You could do that. Or try to fold them up into more compact forms if you need space that much. I remember back when we were traveling and I took sets with me, I twisted and turned them until they all fit into bags, and that also kept their limbs and weapons from getting entangled.

I can't help but feel Karzahni should've been more prominent in 2007, as one of the main villains. He had a cool background and a unique personality among Bionicle villains, and him and Jaller's team had personal grudges with eachother. Instead he ended up as an exclusive set, without a real mask, with the wrong color scheme (at least use the blue from his book illustration), and as a web side story villain. And then he got reduced to a drooling retard. Fuck.

That's what you get if your character gets dropped into the story and set-line as an afterthought when the main plot is already settled. You're reduced to side-story fodder and you're stuck there with Greg's method of "errgh, this is a bit challenging to write, lets kill him off" storytelling.

In an ideal world, somewhere down the line we would have gotten genuine, no mutation bullshit Karzahni and Artakha sets as main titan characters, and the Story Team would have utilized their maximal story potential, bringing years of setup and mystery to a satisfying close. But that's almost never how stuff went.

The least you can do is make the arms symmetrical in length.

Bulk up the shoulders of the torso (with tecnic?), get rid of the other transparent color. unless you find a way to mesh them better together (for instance, I think having a tr.orange bone with tr. purple shell looks neat)

Don't use Skull Slicers "knee-extenders" rather copy Lava Beast's or don't do them at all.

I'm gonna be real with you, anon, and I know you probably don't have a lot to work with, but it's looking a little patchworky and the proportions are all over the place. He's got inverted pectorals, the right forearm needs to be 2 units shorter, he appears to have zero back coverage, and from this point forward he should be called Pancake Stan, because he's broad in the front and totally flat from the profile.
These are all things I know you can fix.

If you want simple, you have to start really simple. Like totally symmetrical humanoid with 2-3 main colors simple. Probably the best way to start is by taking a stock set and modifying or replacing all of its shells and identifying features, THEN doing your own stuff from scratch. It will give you a better perspective on the process. also, some basic tips and guidelines;

>s̶t̶e̶a̶l̶ borrow connections or building methods from brickshelf, flickr, tumblr, grindr, etc., and apply them to your own builds
>go a step further, and totally reverse engineer someone else's custom. This is a good exercise to take up if you have a hard time thinking out of the box.

>in addition to that, avoid using prefabs (especially torsos) for their intended purpose if you can come up with an alternative
