Just threw one of these in the bin yesterday. I hamhandled it and the shoulder joint snapped so I ordered a replacement. Had the broken one sitting around for the best part of a year without managing to fix it so I just threw it out.

I try to fix them but usually do it in a way that makes it obvious they've been repaired by adding bandages. I like the aesthetic, especially if it's a robot or mech with a bandage.

Usually try to fix it or replace if it's cheap enough to do so.

If it's a third party tf then I email and ask for an extra part. They usually have plenty because it's so damn common. Just make sure you ask for more than one since it's basically destined to happen again after they're long gone.

My SS Link Figma's sword broke (it was the first print where you were forced to hamhand the sword into his hand before they fixed the pommel) after about two years of owning it and I lost some of the shield parts since it was my first figma ever. I decided to cut my losses and order another one on sale for $30 with free shipping. I just set the one with a broken sword up with a 3D printed Harp of the Goddess and have him sitting down criss cross playing it.

I try to fix it and if that does not work then I either put them in the box of retirement or use them for spare parts. I am not going to throw something out that I spent a bunch of money on simply because a part broke.

Try to fix it. Sometimes I'll go so far as to look for cheap damaged figures on ebay and check if they have the replacement part I need.

I fixed a damaged Beast Wars Megatron with a 10 dollar one that was missing pieces and in bad condition. Took them both apart and swapped out the best quality parts from both.

I made sure to use the head piece from my original because I'm kinda weird like that. Sometimes I think about Toy Story, and wonder what kind of monster my toys would see me as in that scenario.

I used to repair them from junkers online or sell them to somebody doing the same. The problem is that prices for junkers went all pear shaped. If I need to buy parts, they're disproportionately high, if I need to sell parts, people don't even want to pay what it costs to ship them. So these days if I break something it usually ends up in a box somewhere.

When I was a kid I'd give funerals to my favorites. Usually buried in the back yard or ceremonial burning. Not so favorite toys I'd either use as victims and make them look bloody or blew them up with fireworks with me friends.

Since 2nd grade I've collected toy parts both from broken toys of mine and random playground jettison. I don't play with toys anymore but still I collect what I find randomly on streets and sidewalks if nobody is looking. It bothers me to see toy parts abandoned for being broken, so I've always wanted to find a new use for them. The thing I've wanted to do more than anything is open up a donation depository thing for broken toys so I can weld them together into new ones I'd then donate to poor families, maybe with some corny card about appreciating little things or something else cringy but I just don't have that kind of money.
So to answer your question, I hoarde them endlessly because I'm a fucking autist.

The problem with bricklink isn't so much the part prices (until it's something like a sticker sheet for a promotional set which is like trying to catch a unicorn), it's the minimum total you have to reach before the seller accepts the purchase - when it's like ten dollars and you got all the dozen pieces you need, what the hell are you gonna pad out the order with?

Especially toys from 80s. That time is so far away already but designs still cool.
