>>5970604>To add on: basically anything from Classics really. That line was really bad.Universe 2 aged much, much worse. Everything about that line was muddied with weird doublethink and decisions based on the movie's popularity. "We must do realistic alt-modes, because the movie focusses on realistic alt-modes(just ignore Megatron and the Fallen and later Shockwave)". Overly complex transformations that weren't really complicated, but just served to make designs more fragmented. The aesthetic was overgreebled and odd. At the end of the day, if we never got a new G1 style Optimus, Mirage, Bumblebee, or Jetfire outside of MPs, I'd be ok with their classics version. Megatron, starscream, Astrotrain, and Grimlock less so, but they where still pretty good. Hot rod is the only one that was a total wash as far as I'm concerned.
There are very few Universe toys I can say that for. The Deluxe line-up was almost universally mediocre. I can appreciate the effort put into certain figures(Dinobot is an engineering nightmare and al), but they still are pretty bad. Hound and cyclonous are the only real winners, and even then I dislike Hound's stubby proportions.
At the larger scales, Inferno was the one original voyager, and he was pretty cool. Ultras had two pretty bad autobots that ended up helping to kill the sizeclass entirely, something we're still suffering as there's no in-between Voyager and Leader scale anymore.
The 'Slaught, though, will forever be in my heart.
