I've "stopped" a couple of times already. For about 3-5 years I sorta lost interest and didn't really purchase anything new, I suppose its still in the same trend even now as I don't buy things as frequently as before.

I keep remembering or finding more cool characters that I want to own a figure of. So far I've got Samus, Master Chief, Gabranth, Shining Gundam, and Anubis, with the red RIO:bone Canti on the way as well as the F4F Samus Varia statue when it finally ships and the Metroid Prime 3 figma if it stops looking like shit before release. I still want the blue RIO:bone Canti, Big O, Metal Gears Rex and Ray, and the Revoltech Naked Jehuty, off the top of my head. I wouldn't mind some Xenos for my Samus figma to fight or a Kaiju for Master Chief to fight, either.

Now that's Beast Wars MP exists, I have something to hope for for the next few years. I want an MP Dinobot.

Other collection goals are:
Armor Plus Samurai Troopers/Ronin Warriors
Yamato Ingram
A few older hot toys and some newer ones
Riobot Canti
Soul of Chogokin Daizyujin/Megazord( and a possible SoC Dragonzord and Titans)
ThreeA Zaku

I might be able to acquire most of these within the next year. I just have a huge backlog

I'm actually pretty close to stopping right now to be honest. Went from spending $500-800+ on a regular basis to spending $200-400 last year. When the exchange rate went to shit I quit ordering things and just paid for pre-orders I made in late 2015.

Aside from that the only stuff I have been ordering this year has been on deep discount at HLJ or AmiAmi. It's the first time in 5+ years where I have multiple months where I literally ordered nothing at all. The value just isn't there anymore even if I have the money.

Don't even get me started on the excessive amount of web shop exclusives with Bandai. Or the huge increase in western friendly properties like Star Wars, Marvel and DC which I have zero interest in buying imports for. I went with imports because I want JAPANESE properties.

I figure this year I will probably top out around $1000 spent as opposed to my usual $4000-8000.

Steel planet made a 3d printed dinobot. I got mine in Voyager sized, still don't have time to paint it, but it's solid. You can also order a leader/ultra size of the same thing.

Probably the best we're gonna have for a while. It still makes compromises with the robot legs because the TV show transformation is a fake out and not possible anyway

I'm not a hardcore lifestyle collector though. I prefer having just a few super nice pieces over a large collection of cheaper ones, so I only buy a couple a year.

I don't foresee a stop very soon. I feel like I could say I'm pretty much done, since I have some good displays for my favorite franchises. But then I realize that I have preorders planned every month all the way till March. There's always cool stuff coming out. I think I'm just very comfortable with what I have and I'm comfortable with buying a couple figures every month for the forseeable future. I don't want to quit though, that's for sure

I'm not going to *stop* any time soon, I have no reason to. I still get enjoyment from toys, and not just from the purchasing/pre-order addiction rush that I feel a good amount of /toy/ suffers from.

Personally though, I'm shifting a lot of my toy interest to physical and 3D sculpting, 3D printing, and resin casting. It's awesome, wish more of /toy/ were into it.

Even if I had unlimited money I am super anal about the value of things I buy. Some things I just don't think are worth the money and so I feel it's my duty to send a message to the companies that it's not acceptable pricing. There is also the issue of lack of space and once again even if I had unlimited space I don't have unlimited time to keep everything clean. If 90% of my time with toys is spent cleaning them instead of posing them or admiring their beauty then what's the point?

There is a point at which collections simply become too big and unwieldy. I have the same issue with files on my PC because I am a digital hoarder and holy shit it's just consuming all my free time trying to keep it organized and I barely even get to enjoy any of the stuff I downloaded.

Despite of that, I find myself needing to budget more because of the inflation. Fucking 10.8k after R-SAL shipping for a SHFSS and a Figuarts doesn't feel nice to pay, even if the figures in question are good.
