is your collection complete yet, /toy/? Did your store finally stock that thing youve been waiting for? Have your pre-orders been post-ordered and arrived at your home? Did you collect 'em all? with pretty much nothing on your backlog or anything to look forward to until that certain something is announced?

And even with all of these in my hands, most of my collections wouldn't be complete so no, I'm not even relatively close to completing my collection. I don't even think half the shit I want has been released/announced already.

Kind of. I have a few things I collect.

Most of my collections are casual, as in I'll buy figures I want from it. I don't buy every figure, just the ones I really like.

However I have a few collections where I must have every figure, sometimes every variant as well. Even if I don't like every figure in it, I want them all. I'm missing one item from those collections at the moment, which I'm waiting for it to be sold at my local retail stores.

No, nothing complete yet. But it has gotten to the point where I'm slowing down immensely in what I buy compared to previous years.

I'm only seeing myself purchasing 4 more SAS, whatever Star Trek TOS figures Mezco releases, the next SHF Bruce Lee, the rest of 3A's Dark Judges (if they ever are actually released), and whatever I feel like cherry picking with MOTUC.

Except for Transformers Masterpiece and Dragon Ball S.H.Figuarts, I don't really "collect" any line, I just buy whatever I like and I like a lot of (old) stuff. I grew up in a French speaking country where we got pretty much every big anime titles from the begining of the 70's to the mid 90's (and a good chunk of the less popular ones too). A lot of these were so good I can't resist when a new figure inspired by them is being made. I make about $3000 and spend $500 to $600 on toys every month. I'm an accountant.

I will be largely done once Takara finishes the Autobot cars in their MP line.

If the market wasn't so incredibly poor, I would be looking forward to selling off alot of other stuff I collected over the years. But, seriously, poor as the day is long. Like starving African kids who need just 20 cents a day from viewers like you poor. At this point I'm weighing the pros and cons of keeping "clutter" and just burning it all in the backyard.

I'm trying to collect a scaled (and articulated if possible) figure of all the Pokémon starters and their evolved forms. It's not complete, but I'm making good head way into it.
But the horror of this hobby is that there's always something else that will catch your attention or an idea for an off-shoot collection that would really complement your collection so far, desu… So "complete" feels unattainable unless I give up the hobby.

i doubt i will ever "complete" anything, maybe slow down the rate of purchases but not stopping at full. since i'm just go from what it looks cool for me. the fact that i don't have any problems in getting into new franchises makes me get interested in more possible figures. i got into very enjoyable franchises for me through this way.
and this is not mentioning my desire for figures of characters that still doesn't have a toy.
the most clear objective i have is getting figures of videogame characters, and even then that's pretty vague, with figures of ulala, arthur, beat, chun-li and ryu coming up and who knows what more in the future, i would like to go for a projectXzone kind of display from different properties. maybe mix it up with other ones that aren't sega/namco/capcom for maximum autistic clustefuck.

Well, it is sad if you're not doing anything with your toys but just leaving them to collect dust and are too afraid of touching a figure because it'll cause others to tumbledown in your clusterfuck.
You might as well put a poster of someone's collection on your wall and pretend its yours, instead of wasting all your money on something you won't use.

Or to put it another way, it's like having a GF that you never fuck and just fap to her while shes getting dressed.
