On the plus side, on the topic of exclusives, I got Ahsoka and Saw Gerrera yesterday. Normally, I'd wait to see the movie before deciding to pick up a character, but I've been a Forest Whitaker fan since I first saw Ghost Dog and Saw looks pretty damn cool. My wife loves the retro Catwoman and I like the pin and patch, but I was disappointed with the rest.

They keep advertising the Legacy box with Batman '66 images, so it'd be awesome if they'd finally release '66 Riddler and Penguin POP!s, but I've not got high hopes for them at this point. It'll probably be a Plastic Man POP! (he's predominately shown on the ad included with the Bat-villains box) and a Funko variant cover for the Batman '66 comic.

Most of the Minis aren't articulated, though a friend had some of the Disney ones and I recall that her Jasmine at the very least had head articulation, which surprised me since none of the sci-fi, horror, or wrestling ones I've seen do.

In the case of something like Nemesis, the only other options cost well over 200 dollars. So depending on what it is you want, it just may well be the only sensible way to get a character you like in plastic without losing an arm and leg in the process.

It's probably something to do with Square-Enix's "if we can't make the figures in our own overpriced line, then we're not gonna let anyone else make figures of our characters" attitude. I'm not sure what the exact ownership deal is over the KH characters between Square and Disney, but I imagine that the KH incarnations of actual Disney characters fall under Disney's umbrella, hence their licensing them to Funko, while the KH-original characters need the approval of both Disney and Square. And since Square doesn't get as much profit from licensing their characters to other figure companies as they would from shitting out their own overpriced figures, say goodbye to the prospect of ever getting Pops of Square-Enix characters.

Disney owns the copyrights to all KH-original characters, but the merchandising rights are a bit murky. I know that Disney has a Trading pin of a cloaked Mickey and that there are a handful of other legit KH pins out there.

And there are two Play Arts figures of Mickey as well, one in his cloak and another in his KH2 attire.

I live in London and see a lot of them in give away bags outside charity shops. Granted its a happy meal and a hell of a lot more ubiquitous as it comes free with a kids meal, its way better advertising for current release films in cinema than pops will ever be, let alone much more accurate to the models used. The fact of the matter is if you search boxtrolls merchandise you only get pops and some foreign movie promotional figurines I've never seen and those UK exclusive McDonald's toys. So the movie really only had pops as merch and even those didn't sell so Funko or maybe Laika itself probably didn't want to make figures of characters from its other movies.

That's the whole point I was making. Not that the pops were better or had more options. The fact of the matter is they only made 3 pops and even those didn't sell so they didn't bother making any Kubo pops.

That depends on you local HTs rules on chase, exclusive, and "prerelease" POPs. The employees at my local ones can't pick any of 'em up until a week after receiving 'em.

They're apparently going to be a Wal-Mart exclusive three-pack like the Ghostbusters one that released around Halloween.

There's also a Revenge Of The Sith 3-pack with a Wookiee general, Palpatine from the fight scene with Mace, and Commander Cody. Cody is just the same old Clone POP! with different paint apps, but the first two both look awesome though.
