>>6026227>It's not conjecture. The fact they have names is just because they wanted to, but they're as much of an army builder as a faceless knight, because of what you can do with them. It's the same thing people do with GI Joes.As a G.I. Joe collector, I assure you that being made of interchangeable parts is NOT what makes an army builder. That's just using a standardized joint system, which many lines do for simplicity's sake. I can mix and match parts from all the birds, swap parts from all revoltechs or share pieces between Marvel Legends, but none of them are "Army Builder" lines.
The majority of Mythic Legions figures are unique characters. The part swapping aspect helps encourage buying multiple figures, but the line is mostly unique characters, many with unique head-sculpts and color schemes.
>Unless you actually believe they'll just stop everything because of Mythic Legion's success? Pretty dumb to expect for a line to only do mediocre numbers, especially when they had such success with the Ravens and be surprised enough to just make Mythic Legion figures. All those other character archtypes they mentioned are all going to fall under their "Legions" general banner. They're not going to make tons of different sublines anymore, they're just going to make tons of different figures that fit into one main line. Just like how they fit the new Birds into Mythic Legions, to the point where they used one of them as a Deity of the line, they'll fit other themes into the universe as a whole.
The Fwoosh guys plan to do something similar with their Articulated Icons line, it's focused on one genre now, but it will expand over time. BFS did the same exact thing, starting with ancient Greek/Roman figures, but moving to Medieval Fantasy, Sci Fi and other genres as well. Creating one umbrella line with room to expand is much easier then having to juggle figure releases from multiple sublines.
