So I've never done anything like this before, but I'm going to purchase some paint and a fine-tip brush from a hobby shop to do alittle touching up on some of my figures with small paint-defects/chips.

Is there anything I need to know? Do I need primer, or can I just apply paint directly? I just don't want to make things worse.
