>>6068612I know you have an (slightly) understandable hateboner for the guy, but Eso isn't really an elitist at all, the only time he's ever crossed that road is in retaliation when people insult his or other brands/collections, hence where the "you hate it cause you can't afford it" meme comes from.
As a whole he genuinely tries to help other fans in any possible capacity, I've messaged him personally for sale prices, and at some point he contacted me personally when there was a certain X-Plus figure up for grabs that I was looking for. It actually boggles my mind that somebody would call him an elitist when he doesn't exactly look down or make fun of other fans for the most part, and is more often than not inviting, especially in a hobby where you have cancers like Russo who are always on a high horse about where younger consumers/fans stand in the community, and Cordaro who not only takes pride in his unreasonable vendor prices, but struts his knowledge of vintage toys like a trophy, while calling out any non-active posters in his collector group. Or that a certain producer for the Ifukube 100 concert that basically bullied a long-time collector and Matt Frank out of a group for their opinions on a western Godzilla movie...
Eso himself has openly admitted he doesn't know too much about the merchandise industry and has a lot to earn. For as stupid as the youtube community is, a good fraction of which are children, he's pretty reasonable with them as well.
