>>6060297yes and no. had i not lived with my parents when i started collecting, i probably would have impulse bought a lot of statueshit and other scantily clad figures. That being said, i still own some of that stuff, but it has to basically be grail-tier shit for me to buy and just about never display it. I wouldnt be able to swallow the shame and embarrassment that would be caused from a parent or family member seeing something like a queens blade figure. however, it doesnt stop me from displaying gundams. It DOES stop me from displaying them all, but thats mostly due to limited space.
like i mentioned, it hasnt stopped me completely. the shit that i'd be embarrassed to have them see sits in a closet till i move back out. said shit is only 5 figures out of a collection thats in the 30s. its worth mentioning that ive been heavily considering selling 2 or 3 of them as well. I do concede to some buyers remorse. if i dont want family to see it, why would a date or acquaintances have a less embarrassing reaction?
id say unless its something you're absolutely dying to get/something you will always enjoy as long as you're in the hobby, pass on it. if it isnt and you'll be embarrassed to have your parents see, its probably not worth your time and money. I'm not exactly a social butterfly, but when people step into my living space i don't like the idea of them being eye assaulted by weeboo big tittie bullshit. I love the hobby, but fact is that there's a stigma to it. maybe you can cope with embarrassment better than i; or maybe you just dont give a shit about what people think.
pic related. poor guy must be lonely in that closet.
