>>6085080IIRC there were three Classic Collection waves from Playmates. The first was based on the 80's cartoon, the second was based on the 1990 movie, and the third was based on Secret of the Ooze.
The first wave was probably the best because Playmates did a pretty terrible job of replicating the look of the Henson turtles, and the SotO wave was even worse because they gave the movie turtles the flesh tones of the Nick turtles, throwing off the resemblance even more.
The Figuarts turtles are in a whole different universe than the Playmates Classic line. The comparison is embarrassing, to be perfectly honest. But they're really pricey, so it really comes down to how much money you're willing to pay versus how happy you are with an comparatively inferior product.
