If they use a stock photo of the figure or no figure, expect to get something their dog chewed up. But in your favor, ebay ridiculously favors buyers over sellers. You would almost certainly be able to get a refund if you aren't happy. Or if you just want to rip the guy off.

My SHF Shoretroopers arrived.

Definitely a step in the right direction after Jango. Still not quite as perfect as some of the earlier releases QC-wise, but overall nice, sharp-looking figures with some great articulation. I especially like their ankle rockers, which go really deep.

The speeder bike and Tie-fighter are literally still on shelves in almost every store. They just didn't sell. I think 1/12th vehicles are a pipe dream. Too expensive and too big.

Star Wars doesn't have as many bigger guys that would have to be BAFs and Hasbro doesn't make large enough BAFs for them to really make figures of any creatures.

So you'd either have small figures who have no business being BAFs being sold piece by piece, which generally isn't received well with Legends, or you'd get creatures that are too small and out of scale which people would also complain about. Same would go for the majority of vehicles.

I think they claim to justify the $20 price point by not using bucks (except in certain circumstances like the recent Scarif dudes and the Hovertank pilot). ML uses bucks out the ass but sort of makes up for it with the build a figure gimmick.

Reused bodies. For example, hasbro made a new spider man a couple years ago for their legends line, and they've made about a dozen other characters on that body with new heads and paintjobs since. Star wars characters usually have way more going on than "a guy of this general build wearing spandex", so the black series can't get away with that.

More realistically, he'll be rereleased by then or everyone who wants him will have him. You're also not accounting for the fact that he's got niche-popularity, not Boba Fett popularity. I'm a big sw fan with most black series figs but have no interest in Revan.

The only thing I'd say I'm disappointed with is the sound
The tiny speaker doesn't sound that great and there is only two sounds, one with multiple blaster shots and engine noise and then another that is like a single turbo laser shot
It's a nice little model if you want a Star Destroyer that's decent size and quality for the price

Hm. I was actually thinking about doing a hanging display case type setup rather than pictures, it's something I've been wanting to put together for a while now. I think the micro machines tantive IV would work, but two ships isn't really enough. You're right though, it'd be really easy to fake in pictures.

Finally got my hands on a K2SO black series in the wild. He was the only one I wanted at Toys R Us. Other than that, they only had Hovertank pilots and Jyns.

Her face is comedy, her neck has a bizarre angle on the hinge that makes her look confused whenever she turns her head, and she's way too tiny. I realize sabine kind of dodges the face paint thing on a technicality because of the helmet, but but still. I like a lot of other stuff about jyn like the vest and holster, but she's kind of a mess otherwise.

I sort of wish hasbro had used the money it took to make three fucking waves worth of her and cassian and used it to properly paint one. I also wish brown jacket cassian were the regular release, but whatevs.

I've been working on my Bandai Y-Wing over Christmas and I'd have to say that the nature of the design itself (mostly in the pipes throughout the body) is probably very difficult to simplify whilst maintaining the unique "look" of the craft.

Figure 1, DKR Batman: needed replacement parts, eventually broke
Figure 2, ASM2 Spideman: joint tolerances are a mess but nothing ever broke
Figure 3, Mafex Boba Fett: great figure with some minor issues, all of which I was able to fix

Even as a kid, I was a hopeless fanboy for Imperials. I bought two TIE interceptors so they could be an escort for the Lambda shuttle.

What a good toyline that was. Small enough so a child could buy even the big ships like the Falcon, but it still had little figures too.

To be fair Bandai is doing everything at once and doesn't have an entire other scale of history for other figures behind them.
Plus outside of maybe a Cody it's not like we'll be getting other then basic clones, ranked clones as exclusives, and main characters.
We'll definitely get a figuarts Episode III Anikin and Obi-Wan.
We'll never get a figuarts Kit Fisto or Dexter Jetster.

Which makes it weird they did AOTC Anakin and Obi Wan. The ROTS versions are really their definitive designs. I can't see the AOTC figures selling. And their Phantom Menance Obi Wan would have sold a lot better if they gave him a Qui-Gon companion.

Its pretty much impossible to get a Black Series Darth Maul under 200 bucks that isnt some bootleg isnt it ? All i see on Ebay just raise my alarm bells. So I tried out the stormie model kit, you know something simple for starters, but man, I really underestimated how much I would hate this whole modeling thing.

This is the most tedious fucking thing imagineable. How someone can enjoy the snipping, sanding, and assembly, on and on like some kind of fucking sweatshop worker is beyond me. And oh, you don't want to apply the shitty, shitty looking stickers? Try the waterslides! Okay, fair enough those are cool I can live with those. But say you fuck up? Well just paint it! Yeah dude! Just spend like 8$+ on an ass load of paint you only need 1% of. But no, really, fuck this snipping shit, using a bud's gunpla nippers and everything, shit is just not fun. Its boring and makes me want to do something, anything else. Fuck anyone to death who actually takes pleasure in this assembly line autism.

That sucks man. I just did the Boba Fett kit I got for X-mas and had a damn good time. I usually repaint the BS figures anyway so I figured might as well have fun building the whole thing. Although I did fuck up on the waterslides, for some reason they aren't sticking after drying and I guess I need some kind of setting solution. But I don't wanna spend the money so I'll probably just stick to painting.

Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a matte finisher? I bought a can of some stuff but it put this kind of toothy texture over everything after it dried. I think it fits fine for the armor but looks weird on his gun and stuff.

Almost all of them are pretty good.
If it left too much talcum, it's likely you didn't shake the can enough. Heating it also helps in the mixture mixing better, just don't be a retard in heating it higher than body temperature.

The POINT of model kits is that all the parts are separated, so you can achieve a much finer level of detail than any mass-produced, pre-built figure can provide.

There's also the satisfaction of being able to admire something that you built yourself.

Those aren't Mustafar Clone Troopers, they're Clone Shock Troopers. Hasbro made Black Series figures of the Stormtrooper version, but I don't think they have made a Clone Trooper version, and I doubt one's planned any time soon.

This is my main issue with the kits, honestly. I'd go so far as to say I enjoy putting them together, but the final product doesn't feel right. Obi-Wan doing anything between movies is dumb. A part of what makes his journey in A New Hope feel special is that it's the last hurrah for this old war hero. He's had to spend the last 20 years bored out of his mind in exile but now he gets one last adventure. He even gets to spend it with Luke, the only piece of his old best friend he has left. This is why I don't get the demand for an Obi-Wan stand alone movie. If he's off fighting some fucking space devil with robot legs it ruins his story in A New Hope. In the case of the Stormtrooper though, it's not anymore detailed than Hasbro's and has weirdass proportions because of the shoulders.
Why not just buy the Hasbro Stormtrooper instead? It already has all almost everything that should be painted painted. Probably the only thing you can do to it to make it better is add/spray a layer of high gloss to the white armor.

Pretty pointless to buy the Stormtrooper model, unless you want a slightly easier time doing a custom paint job (slightly because you'll need to wash Hasbro's to get all the lube off in order for the paint to fully stick on)

The shoulders are fine. The problem is more in the neck being a bit short (can be fixed with a bit of paper in the joint to raise the head up). I believe the Sandtrooper kit addressed this issue.

As for the Black Series Stormtrooper, it's not easily available where I live. And factoring what I would pay for shipping online, it's actually cheaper to buy the model kit.
