SIC Drive arrived. Hands were awkward to put on and one of the leg pipes pops off whenever I try to put him in certain poses, but the figure is fantastic. The Max Flare tire being a yellow/gold colour really helps too. I can't wait for SHF Type Tridoron to show up now.

So why did Sentai figuarts die anyway? Were people just not buying them? I know in America bluefin said that the only ones to make a profit for them were the MMPR ones.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>6107002 It was mostly because the Sentai-only fans weren't willing to buy them on release and instead decided to try and wait for them to be on sale or something, which means that as fair as bandai could actually tell numbers wise there was little to no interest in them.
Not even the local market really scrambled to pick up the Sentai releases the same way that Kamen Rider ones are.
Keep in mind that this was a few years ago and Sentai still had a kid-level action figure toyline as well, unlike now where we don't even have that.

Why the FUCK does Amazon Omega come with the combat knife he NEVER used and NOT the sickle weapon that he uses more than any other Battler Grip weapon in season 1? I know the sickle comes with the Junglaider, but it should have been the other way around. I'm so salty.
Anonymous
>>6107166 I think the knife was, in pre-production, meant to be his main weapon so it's similar to Amazon Prime, but when they actually did the show they went with the scythe instead.

also, there's a problem with paint chipping. the silver paints on his body is prone to chipping especially when you attach Thunder Gridman (Synchro) and King Gridman (Phormo) armor.

While painting up some ShodoVS figures to make them better, a couple of questions came up and someone with more Showa knowledge would help. 1) What color is Shadow Moon's mouth plate? The only clear images I can find are of toys and half of them are black and the other half gunmetal. What's the actual color on the suit? 2) Why is Amazon's chest red? Is this one of those in show running changes that I just haven't seen the right episodes of?
Anonymous

How's it going, folks? I've decided to finally take the plunge into Toku/Sentai. In a thread on /co/, some folks jokingly suggested check out series based on finding a costume I liked and going from there. That's paid off so far, as I decided to go with Kamen Rider Stronger and I'm enjoying it quite bit so far, along with Zyuranger since I liked MMPR as a kid. After watching the first Super Hero Taisen movie, I've decided to check out Fourze too. Anyway, what other titles would you guys recommend for a newbie like myself? This is surprisingly the only thread I've seen discussing this stuff since it was brought up on /co/ in passing, so I thought I'd ask.
Anonymous
>>6119226 Geez, there are a lot of good ones to recommend.
Fourze is a great place to start. W is another good one. Drive is a little bit odd and takes a little while to get into gear, but it ends satisfyingly. Gaim is a weird series that is pretty cool (it's written by Gen Urobuchi, who also wrote Magica Madoka, so there are a ton of similarities between the two works), worth watching but also a far bit different than most usual KR series. The current series, Ex-Aid, has been enjoyable so far, kind of a cross between Drive and Gaim. Amazon and Amazons are both great. The original is absolutely worth checking out, but last I checked only the first 40 or so eps have been subbed. My personal favorites are Black and Kuuga.
Honestly, the suggestion to base it off a costume isn't a joke.
The only series really to avoid is Wizard, Ghost, Kiva, and Decade. Wizard's plot stalls around ep 10 and never goes anywhere (but it does have good fight scenes). Kiva has a cool costume but other than that I couldn't like it. Decade isn't terrible, but since the gimmick is revisiting alternate versions of the previous series, it's probably better to just watch the original versions that base anything on alternate universes. Ghost is absolutely the worst.
Anonymous
>>6119226 It's usually a /m/ thing.
Anyway, I would recommend the movies. Like Sharivan: New generation or the ultra Galaxy somethingsomethingmovie.
Personally I loved Den-O back in the day and Amazons is great if you want something a bit more serious/edgy.

I would recommend watching the shows that are currently airing. Chasing a show weekly is a fun experience.

On the subject of the thread, I collect WCF (which I'm still not certain are okay to discuss here) and this Stronger figure is my first from the Kamen Rider line. I'm thinking of getting one of the Stronger [Charge Up] ones and a Fourze (once I decide which I like best).
