Walmart crushed a lot of competitors to become a top three toy seller, and once it was there, stopped trying to cut costs. A lot of more obscure series died.
GI Joe basically killed the 3 3/4 scale with wanting more magic mike in the movie sequel.
Companies still pump out large amounts of pegwarmers while the known popular characters are shortpacked to help out scalpers.
And then physical stores just straight up stop stocking toys for months at a time. Just empty pegs or 6+month old pegwarmers everywhere I go.
Only Lego is dependable anymore.
