Darkseid and Grail came in the mail.

Darkseid came with two similar relaxed right hand and Grail's leg automatically came off as soon as I took it out of the packaging.

Thanos was created by Starlin.
Darkseid was created by Kirby.

Starlin was originally going to base him off of Metron, but someone convinced him just copy Darkseid instead.
Darkseid is a god, obsessed with controlling everything. Thanos is an alien, who is obsessed with death.

You're probably thinking of the Eternals, which was created by Kirby. Same basic archetypes, because he never got a chance to finish his New Gods story at DC.

Darkseid was made by Jack Kirby for DC, which was based off his idea of new gods that would have came after Marvel's Thor experienced Ragnarok and killed the Asgardians. When Marvel wouldn't go for the Ragnarok idea, Kirby kept the idea to use for when he got free reign to do something, which was what DC offered him.

Kirby later went back to Marvel and made the Eternals, which are similar to the New Gods he created for DC, of which Darksied is the big bad. Kirby did not create Thanos, though.

Jim Starlin created Thanos, and made him an Eternal. Initially Starlin made Thanos look more like Metron (a different New God who was more like space god Spock) and was told to make him look more like Darkseid since Darkseid was the more famous one.

But Kirby did not make Thanos.

Darkseid and the rest of New Gods came about 1970-71. Thanos was 1973.

Same shit happened to me with grail, but I initially thought it wasn't a big deal as I bought it for darkseid so whatever. Then the shoulder joint for my darkseid sheared off. Returned that shit to Amazon.

I only bought it because people kept reassuring me the DCC's QC had improved. So I'm definitely done with DCC.

So this is pretty much the best 1/12 Superman figure released so far, which is kind of pathetic. Not that it's a bad figure, its actually pretty good, but it certainly has its flaws and honestly Superman deserves far better than he's gotten.

I can't wait for the Mezco One:12.

If you knew the fucking conniption I had when I opened the MAFEX one and discovered that they wired the bottom of the cape and only the bottom.

The flimsy joints were forgivable in a "what did I expect from MAFEX" kinda way but the motherfucking cape really fucked me up especially since Batfleck had wiring along the side like its supposed to be

They did a second run of the standard DKR Batman already. I think it was like 4-6 months or so after it was initially released. The market prices were high, then they dropped back to retail, then they shot up again.

Yeah, I've heard so many horror stories about the Mafex Superman I knew to stay away.

Between the Mafex and the complete tire fire that is the DC Icons Superman, it's been a rough 12 months for Superman fans. Like I said, can't wait for the Mezco.

I've given serious thought into it but I just can't come to terms with the fact that they have cloth costumes. It works wonderfully with the Dark Knight Returns one but doesn't make sense to me with the DCEU ones.

I am keeping an eye out for further news on the Mezco Batmobile though. As long as it's not as astronomically expensive like the Soap Studios one I'm going it

It didn't look good to them when they actually made the promos and understood a more accurate sizing for the figures. They shrunk him by 1/4" or more compared to what they initially were going for.

The Bruce figure is hunched just like the cartoon so the top of Terrys head should be at Bruces brow. They made him almost 6" smaller than he should be if he were scaled up

Forgive me if this is a very general question, but I'm looking into DC collecting at around the 7" scale. I've only got some Marvel selects and a NECA Illidan. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the Arkham line for Batman figures and the DC collectibles deluxe robo-suit Luthor. Are there any good general DC figures at that size? Mainly would be interested in Deathstroke, Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Darkseid. Obviously I don't mind Darkseid being a bit oversize. I was considering the DC Icons one but I'm not crazy about the design.

If you ask someone to draw the Adam West Batman costume, they'd get some iconic features down like the eybrows. If you asked the same of the Burton movies, they'd get at least something, like the yellow belt and yellow symbol. Schumacker would have batnipples.

Baleman is basically a bunch of shitty unoriginal armor slapped together. There's nothing that stands out. It's an X-Men movie costume with a cowl and cape. They'd recognize it because it's Batman and everyone saw those movies, but nothing about it stands out or makes it iconic.

I didn't get excited about it, cause it's not an exciting suit, and I couldn't tell you any strong defining details of it even if you were torturing me. But I wasn't offended by it either. As for your other complaints, I see where you're coming from, but I also think you're too wrapped up in your own idea of what Batman "should" be. Batman films are all adaptations, filtered through the director's vision--and that's okay. It doesn't negate the comics or retcon them. Think of it as an alternate universe if anything. I acknowledge that Nolan's movies are quite flawed, but I think he made some calls for the sake of realism--for the tone he wanted to set.

Nolan made a conscious choice to step away from some of the bigger camp/fantasy elements of the DC Universe to give us this sort of cold, bleak vision of Gotham City. And like I said before, that's fine. We've had the polar opposite too, with Schumacher. And the world keeps turning. Tomorrow we'll likely have another, totally different, totally comic-inaccurate Batman film series. Just chill and learn to appreciate each one for its unique take on Bats.

In fact I think the whole One:12 line is overrated. Yeah the Dark Knight Returns was awesome but that cloth looks silly with the DCEU figures

That midriff joint is completely bizarre. In a line where the whole point is using cloth to cover up articulation and make things appear seamless, why they'd make the joint so high instead of lowering it to her waist and attaching the top of the pants to it to make it seamless is beyond me.

To be fair, booty shorts and midriffs are supposed to be revealing, so when you have a waist and torso joints in the body, it's going to reveal itself. Other companies will only just put in the upper torso joint.

Look what I got. I've haven't seen the new show, but I love the characters so I had to get the whole set. They aren't half bad for a buck fifty a piece. I can't help but smile at the fact that they made a happy meal toy of a rapist. kek

First wave Batman was a manlet even for a strict 1/12 scale, but pictures seem to point that later figures were a bit better. Also, can we expect future Batmen down the line to be taller?

As for the other figures, my Harley is over 5 and a half inches tall, which is her in 1:12 scale since she's supposed to be 5'7"

It's not actually a He-Man buck, but it is very similar and almost certainly based off it. The batman they used the torso on doesn't have nipples sculpted on and they reused the torso from that batman.

Between Doomsday, King Shark, their CnC/BaF are really nice. I just absolutely cannot buy the entire waves. They're not bad toys but they are not worth the price. The Reaper from what I imagine is the next wave might have to be obtained though. He looks quite nice.
