>>6151160I defended the GMK Neca fig in an unbiased review stating that, while it was a decent figure and one should consider buying it, the biggest problem is, indeed, the face. SHMA GMK was more accurate, but Neca was a cheap alternative.
Looking at Neca's Shin Godzilla, however, makes me feel uneasy. It makes me wonder what happens when they're designing it. It's not awful, but, I mean, it's a humongous disappointment because they CAN do better.
Again, I give my grievances to the head and neck area. The figure could very well be salvaged if they made it either larger or more screen-accurate, yet it isn't. And no, just repairing the head would not make it ALL screen-accurate...but it'd make it tolerable in the way SHMA Legendary Godzilla wasn't screen-accurate, you know?
I think Neca has a serious problem with heads. They just can't seem to get them right, starting all the way back from the original head-sculpt for their Godzilla 1984 figure.
Is Neca getting any complaints about this? It really irks me because I really wanted to get a Shin Godzilla that is painted well, screen-accurate enough, and posable! But it seems we aren't getting that for whatever reason, and we have no idea why!
Seriously, how does it happen? It's rather disappointing.
