I was gonna wait til this guy dropped from its ridiculous fucking price, but I got it relatively cheaper from Amazon with £10 off on top. Still crazy money for a playset with four minifigs and no extras

This is a treat for after I get through my work deadlines though so no building for me til next weekend

I read an interview with a Lego Master Builder, and he said that one of the best ways to get into it is by going far in one of the MOC Olympics. Learning the preferences of the MOCPages judges is probably a lot easier than getting a build through Lego Ideas.

So, I have no idea if it will help get your Ideas set made, but that Lego Ideas Test Lab is going to have contests to make "official" 4th builds for creator sets. Maybe if you get a bunch of votes on your submission, you could use it to jump start your youtube or instagram Lego career. Then glide into easy Ideas. Go build a duck and get one of the 3 in 1 sets.

Man, I am so glad I got that Prince of Persia set when it was new. Really kicking myself for not getting one with the ostriches, but at the time I didn't see the point in spending money on fleshfigs. It's crazy how the silver shoulderpads are a buck each.

Between that and getting two of the Toy Story Army Men set, I really made good decisions that year.

Nah, even Lances' Battle Suit comes with an Extra OT plate/rod, so it's actually more surprising Axl and Macy don't get extra bits.

it seems like every iteration of Lego AT-ST is better than the last, but this is the first one (outside of the UCS one) that really has decent shaping of the cabin

Hi folks, I'm out on the hunt for Batman CMF but haven't found them yet. A quick question - are there any that are much harder to find than others, a Spartan or Hotdogman of the series? Not looking to scalp, just want to make sure not to pass up the rare ones and have to pay double later on. Thanks!

That's weird. i didn't even notice it didn't have the logo on it. I guess they only started putting their name on UCS sets after the Tie Fighter. because it, Hoth base and the new Death star all have the logo, but the sand crawler, ewok base and red 5's Xwing dont have the logo.

TLBM has a lot of really good sets. I would argue there's not really a "best" one. The Joker Low Rider and Penguin car are both fantastic from a design standpoint, the smaller sets (Mr Freeze, Scarecrow pizza, Joker balloons) all connect together into one larger playset, and almost all the sets have a really good price/piece and price/piece/minifig ratios.

Speaking of TLBM sets, am I the only one who gets a very distinct Ed Roth vibe from the Tail-Gator set?

even though i'm not the most into dragons and not a fan of the exposed technic axles and pieces, the dragon is the most complete build in itself. The mech is the set i'd personally buy out of the three and the most versatile for modding, but you'll need extra parts for that.
I love buildings a lot, but if you don't specifically are into the characters and minifigs it feels a bit meagre.

Also what's your favorite creator sets? Mine are the ones that have at least one build for minifigure. "mini models" are more like parts packs.

Then brick build animals, and last but not least themed buildings.

All Speed Champions cars, except for the Ford Raptor, are built with a 4-wide driver compartment, meaning it'd require some heavy modding, including changing out the windshield.

I modded my Z28 camaro to seat three, but pretty much everything that isn't the hood, trunk and bumpers is completely different, and even those were changed slightly to fit the new proportions.

Heavily modded that chima crow-plane, enlarged it and gave it new wings. I never liked those "solid part-wings" that crow vehicles had.
Now it looks a bit better - wings are super posable and its so much fun!

Also crow-sky pirate got a henchman - robot that piloting the vehicle.

I had a set of the American Bricks (plastic) style ones. You could make houses with doorways and angled roofs and that was literally it because that's all the pieces you got.

They would also just fall apart. Most of the other bricks there look like they don't have shit in the way of clutch compared to Lego.

I'm trying to make my own, but I'm hitting some basic hurdles (for example, I'm not quite sure what colour to make the walls that would look good both inside and out, but I don't want to lose out on space by making the walls two studs deep to have different interior colours.)

Also: Friendly reminder to never ditch your unused stickers and check up to them every once in a while. I'm was going through mine now and was surprised how many of them were usefull to me now. I really spruced some cars up i built without the need for bricklinking.

I saw a Nexo knight promotion area in my lego shop. There where several battle suits in a bin to build and play with.
Can you buy in a lego store only the mech like these minifig pick a brick?
I thought its a play area and didnt asked or looked for a price tag.
Driving to the shop just to see its not for sale would be too dissapointing.

HOWEVER, my local Lego Shop has mixel joints in the Pick-a-Brick, so you could feasibly buy one mech set and parts to extensively customize it

Am i the only one who hates fleshies?

This batman minifig series is so fucking brilliand has so many neat bodyprints but damn...why they have to be fleshies.

This makes them pretty much useless because the majority of lego characters have yellow faces. And my whole town is filled with yellow ones.
Oh well - at least there is
1) amazing Yellow rubber eraser suit
2) amazing Red Hood suit
3) Robin's jeans-legs
and tons of little parts like this Lobster! Hope to get several lobsters!

Usually they're just one brick deep and the interior and exterior share a color (usually a tan or a white will work well)
You could probably use SNOT bricks and have tiles hanging on the inside or outside to give a different color. I know a lot of people do this for sidings and such

Maybe you should try the Global Shipping Program. That way you only need to ship the item to the nearest eBay shipping facility and if it gets there then eBay will be responsible for anything that happens to the package. Also a clunky as shit submarine that wasn't even with consistent colors. Disassembled now, building one using an actual boat as the base.

I have 3 irl pictures of MOCs. One's a real skinny robot, another is a sword space sled, and the last is a nice looking chicken walker (I'd actually want to build it again).

I also remember making a DS holder out of technic parts to hold it open after the hinge broke, and a functioning windmill with baseplates as blades and it could pump water from a well (bucket under the table).

That was my single favorite theme as a kid. And as far as action features go, I think LEGO has still yet to top the Technic pins blasting out parts of the wall.

The Lone Ranger sets were OK, but were no substitute. And I'm still mad at that theme for preventing us from getting LEGO Western Modulars.

Does anyone here want to know the 2017 SW set prices in Canadian dollars? You could probably do a conversion and assume the US prices on these. Heres what I know:

The Phantom - 40 CAD

Battle packs - $17 instead of usual 16

Microfighters - 13 each

Y wing - 75

Duel on naboo - 30

Battle on scarif - 65

I thought battle on scarif would be 75 since it is a similar set to Takodana which was 75 dollars, so Im glad its a little cheaper. Y-wing seems like a decent value because it has more pieces than the Rebel U wing which is 100 dollars. Phantoms price is kind of shitty but everyone has a boner for admiral Thrawn I guess (i havent watched rebels). Naboo seems pretty standard, microfighters are normal, and it seems the new battle packs are getting a price increase (super lame as theyre my favourite).

So, for example with conversion the phantom would likely be 30 USD, Y-wing 60 USD, and scarif 50 USD

ex. the millenium falcon in universe can fit like 4 people in the cockpit but the tfa one can BARELY fit two minifigs, but it would fit 4 microfigs

Minifig scale isn't actually things scaled to the size. It's something like three quarters of the size it would be if it was really scaled to minifigs, but it's not a hard number

Yes they have done it, and I have it, still writing up my review. Figures that come with it are shit, but the rest of it is 1:1 on par with lego quality (except maybe the sails, but again, for less than $100 compared to like $700 for the OG one, a couple things can be shit and gained through bricklink as replacements.). Youll get a bunch of shits on here talking shit, and ill get that one guy who always comes in late to the party to bitch at me, but dude, its worth it.

Can be had for like $65-$70, and if you can, pay the extra for DHL shipping and youll get yer set in a few days as compared to a few weeks.

Although.....

Chinese new year has started I think, meaning all shipping from them usually grinds to a standstill for like a month or two, so maybe wait till end of February or even mid March.

The way they built the jet engines is pretty cool, but at the same time you can guess how it was done just from looking at the parts list.

I would say it looks Ninjago-like. If you want, I'll take some pictures to show you how to tell fakes, but basically every part has "LEGO" on it somewhere. Heads that have a filled recessed should have it inside that. The top of the neck on the body. Inside of the arms. The space between the "studs" on the hip. Also the inside of the toes on the legs. I don't know of any logos on the hands. Maybe that will help.

Look up the National Geographic's ultimate factories episode on Lego. They have a part where they talk about mold maintenance. It takes just under 2 hours to change a mold.
