Reposting the question from last thread. Vader's TIE & A-wing is 50% off locally. Should I get it? I really want Vader and Tarkin, other two figs are whatever. Guys I made some interesting calculations Since minifig scale car width is a big problem in the LEGO community, I found that the average car width is a bit over 70 inches, in minifig scale that is around 5 studs wide. Can we make 5 studs wide cars? Also, since the Death Star is 160 kilometers wide, in 1:1 minifig scale that would be 3.6 kilometers (2.2 miles), equivalent to around 460,000 studs of width

>>6188139 Limited Quantity items should not be sold in stores in the first place, this is a problem with stores not following Lego's rules. Limited quantity items are distributed by specific methods.
The Ninjago polybags for example that we see being sold on store shelves during part of the video were a promotion for VIP's who spent $50 or more. They should not have been available in the first place.
In terms of whether the other sets have a limited quantity, Lego themselves actually have an Amazon of their own which stocks sets well after the stores no longer stock them so even in the case where someone decides to buy a couple of hundred sets, Lego have a much larger supply of online stock.

But honestly there's so much variation in Lego's browns that I don't care if pieces aren't the same shade. The three 2x4s on the left are all supposed to be "brown" but you can clearly see one is a lot darker. Browns and yellows seem to be the two colors that have the most variation, but the plain reds have gotten a darker lately too. It's getting to the point where my childhood bricks don't match up with the new stuff.

>>6190351 >the whole rock-based theme is godawful You know what the real issue is with this wave?
It's ruins-themed and yet there's only a single fucking set that features an actual ruin and it's a store exclusive.
Everything else but the castle is just vehicle after vehicle.

hmm
oh yeah that was chima.
Do boys really like vehicles that much they will deny everything that dont have wheels?
I mean i was a weird kid i guess and personally hated wheeled vehicles (i liked monsters environments and planes/flying stuff).
But damn.
I knew boys like cars but not in terms where EVERYTHING IS A CAR. EVERY SET IS A CAR.

Got pic related on a clearance. They had tons of them sitting around. Who'd buy this set at full price?
Got a bunch of vehicles/stuff for my modular city though, and I'll probably mod that lego store into a 16 wide modular later.
Also, one of the 8x16 plates was severly bent. Quality control at it's finest.

>>6190477 Ruins have always been my favorite Lego sets.
This set was incredibly evocative to me as a child. The idea of a knight in the high desert wasteland coming across this ancient black stone building with a fucking ghost of a dead king inside fueled many jaunts into fantasyland.
Same with 1596, but not as much.
What's you favorite background, /lg/? This "setting sun in the desert" from the earlier Castle line is probably mine.
