>>6216902I am 33. Those movies werent "tryhard" because at the time no one had an issue with movies like those existing. The MPAA existed but was a bit more lenient at the time (sometimes).
Deadpool seems tryhard because we went though a long streak of classic action stars and sequels to classic action movies toning it the fuck down to the point we had not one but TWO die hard sequels where kills were done off screen. The titular catch phrase was turned into a joke to the point where you could see the very moment where bruce willis stopped caring.
Also, I am a regular on /pol/ and ill even say this. Dude, unplug for a while. You are taking the cuck shit way too fucking seriously. All that shit was very tongue in cheek man. It fit the idea of Deadpool perfectly. A fourth wall breaking idiot who became a fucking meme and hated it (yes, I know, fictional character. Really, its probably the writers who hate it the most). Hell, Ryan Reynolds spends half the fucking movie making fun of himself. Will Meryl Streep ever do that?
Nah, but shell let herself get cucked out of playing Mary Poppins in the sequel. That role goes to Emily Blunt, she gets to play Marys bumbling sidekick.
Another one im not joking about. Seriously, a Mary Poppins movie with Meryl Streep in it, and she DOESNT play Mary?
