>>6248440From someone who has been making a steady uphill battle of trying to get good photos for the past like, 2 years, 4 things have fixed almost all of my issues.
Getting two 50 cent pieces of white posterboard. One to put on the wall, one to just sit on a flat surface (aka: my desk).
Getting an entirely new digital point and shoot camera, which you probably don't need to do. Mine was incredibly old and terribly shit, even for a P&S camera. My new camera is better in every single way. I went as cheap as I could, because I'm a poorfag. Got a Canon PowerShot ELPH 180. Again, you probably don't need to do this, you probably just need better lighting. Lighting is everything. Also if your camera has an ISO setting, set it to as low as it can go.
Buying some LED desk lamps at Walmart ($10 apiece). I only needed 1 because I happened to have a standing lamp that has a bendable 40 watt reading light, and it's positioned over the desk I take my photos on. Probably not the best thing to do, but it was cheap and it's working for me. I'm sure someone could probably suggest something better.
And 4 would be just getting a photo editing program. I use GIMP, which is free.
