I have an interest in martial arts so I signed up for boxing, then some gym mates in there suggested I try out muay thai and BJJ, got me in shape, got me to know a lot more people too. Toys is something easy enough to upkeep, just check 4chan for announcements or pre-order dates, then work for the money for the ones you want and it's a done deal as a hobby.
Get laid in college, once you go to work, depending on what work you get, you MIGHT end up meeting less people. When I worked a corporate job, I met a lot more girls (I was in marketing) than when I finally landed a job in SF in games (met mostly dudes... or investor bro types). There's also the added complication of, "well shit I'm supposed to be professional with this person, I shouldn't bang her". In college? Bang anyone attractive you are interested in, worst that can happen is they don't talk to you anymore.
