The fact that so many books still name the Beatles "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success: the Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worth of being saved.

It is sad to see them go from what was once an imaginative toy that, while drawing inspiration from all sorts of pop culture themes, encouraged creativity and stood on its own merits to just another vehicle for popular cash cow IPs. But that's an issue with entertainment in general these days. The business side has become so radicalized that only the most hyper-profitable of the super-profitable is allowed to exist. Within a few decades every single piece of media is going to be based on a handful of like, 5 IPs.

Honestly really like this set. Lots of nice details (I especially love how the railing on top is just a bunch of cleverly placed hot dogs).

The minifigs are 10/10, though I wish we'd have gotten some instruments/Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band variants. Probably would've preferred Fred over Jeremy too desu, but he's a neat addition.

Only real nitpick is that the fin on the end isn't double sided, so you can only really display it from that one angle, but the rest of the set is so good looking it's a minor flaw really.
